The end of another 40 Day campaign. It’s now safe for everyone to scurry back to their homes, their lives, their churches and sweep abortion under the rug until the next national campaign begins. Only a handful of the faithful remain outside the death mills in attempt to end abortion.

But the dedication of this handful is admirable and directed by God Himself. He has led them, and some of them don’t even realize that yet. They stand in the freezing temperatures, wind blowing, snow and rain falling. They stand in the blistering sun as well, for hours on end.

They attempt to speak to every woman who is so near making a “choice” that she will forever regret. They impact many lives without ever knowing they have done so.

Where are all the warrior who came out to help touch these lives during the past 40 days? Where are they now? Do they not know that the killing goes on? Do they feel that they have done their part for the cause of life. Is it their “choice” to just give up on the thousands and thousands of lives about to be ended this year alone? Five hundred plus saved during 40 days in limited areas nationwide – how encouraging can that truly be when we lose four thousand babies a day in the abortuaries?

Assuming that you have done your part – that you can now rest easy – satisfied with a job well done? Well living that lie – that is complacency, and I will pray for you as well when I am outside of the abortion mill praying for a “save” when I counsel, know why gave me the hands and feet and voice that I have.

You gave up your complacency for Lent if you participated in the Spring campaign. Could you not give that trait up permanently? There are lives depending on it.

The Adopt the Mills Initiative focuses on two main tools from the church and Christian community: prayer support and financial support. Prayer support from the local congregation in covering the abortion mill with prayer calling for the conversion of the staff, and the successful rescue of the babies and mothers threatened by abortion.

Make a difference in your neighborhood and save lives!

A mere fifteen years later, comes Mr. Clinton calling on President Obama to present his case for the bill during the party’s closed door caucus. He not only encouraged Democrats on The Hill to pass this bill, whether they like it or not, but stated that they could always make changes later.

Had this ability to just make these changes at a later date been in existence from the outset, why all of the wrangling and infighting when this bill could have merely been put to a vote and passed? That scenario would certainly have spared us all of the drama and still result in a bill of which we don’t approve.

One staffer reported Mr. Clinton had stated, “…if you don’t win on health care, the Republicans will define it for you,”

Ron Wyden, the third term Democratic Senator from Oregon, stated that the former president restated that time is of the essence and that it does not favor the Democrats’ side as the they gear up for another election year. Senator Wyden said, “There is a sense that the clock is ticking,”

There were no urgent discussions about reforms, costs, the pain and suffering that will result from this bill After all, this was just politics as usual. Fox News reported that Bill Clinton told Democratic senators that the “the worst thing to do is nothing” when it comes to health care reform. 

Well, I couldn’t agree more about “doing nothing.” More ‘nothing’ that we do the more abortions will be performed; the more we will pay to have more of the same old bureaucracy.

I know all of you who participated faithfully in this last campaign are exhausted.  Most of us feel that we have done our good deed. Well, yes in a way we have, but isn’t there more we can, no should, be doing? Are we going to be content to pray, fast, gather for only 40 days and leave the victories lay outside the doors of the abortion mills until next year?

Can you imagine how many more people would have died during our past military wars when we joined together to form the Allied Forces and to fight a formidable foe if we had quit after one or two successful campaigns, not returning to for six months to take on the enemy again? War! Battle!  Yes, we are in a war and we are battling not only the abortionists, but our liberal representatives in power, society that has adopted a defeatist attitude or an attitude apathy. Meanwhile, our babies, are dying by the thousands every day. We are not powerless to end abortion unless we just stop fighting.

Today we all want to know what is the least we can do. We don’t want to expend more effort than necessary. Over time, we have developed a minimalist mind-set. Very few are willing to take the added time or unnecessarily exert themselves. Few but the abortionists that is. These doctors and mill operators are so well organized. They know their rights and entitlements; they are so methodical that one abortion mill alone can kill up to 80 plus babies in one day. Further, on days when they are not operating their execution chambers at one location, they are off at another repeating the process - over and over and over.

What takes place at the abortion mill when the executioner is not present? Well, inside, there is a well oiled machine at work—directing the daily routines that will ultimately lead to the untimely death of thousands more babies, destruction of the psyche of vulnerable young girls and women who think they have no alternative, who think that abortion is the only option they have available to them. Young boys and men often stand feeling helpless because they are losing the child they want to raise. Or, some of these men and boys are responsible for directing their partners to the mill to deal with the “problem”. 

If we are serious about closing down America’s Killing Fields, we need to act - not just for 40 or 80 days each year—although that was a great beginning. We need to develop a continuous presence at our local mills. We need to have a caring peaceful and prayerful presence outside of the mills. We need to greet these vulnerable mothers when they arrive for their initial appointments. We need to share with them the information they need. These actions are likely to help them to decide in favor of life instead of being manipulated by the experienced nurses and “counselors” awaiting them inside when they enter the mill confused, scared and open to receive the lies that will undoubtedly be doled out to them. Just knowing there MIGHT be another way is all it may take to save a baby’s life some days.

Other days, we may not be quite as fortunate, but at some point these mothers may be looking to find their way out of the maze of pain and guilt. You will have been there to provide support and to let them know that there is real help for them as they face this situation as well. The healing process is without a doubt a very long and lonely road for them to travel. You can change that simply by being there for them beforehand.

So, stop asking how little you can do; come join us, and see how much you can do—how much we can do together. By joining forces with Adopt The Mills, you will never be alone.
