Fr. Jenkins at Notre Dame - “Drop the Charges”!!!

http://prolifeunity.com

Over 14,500 pro-lifers have contacted Fr. Jenkins at Notre Dame so far with an urgent appeal: “Drop the Charges”

I’m glad to share some excellent news with you:

So far, over 14,500 people have contacted the University of Notre Dame, urging Fr. Jenkins to drop the charges against the 88 pro-lifers facing trespass charges for simply entering campus during the 2009 commencement exercises when pro-abortion president Obama was honored.

The 14,500 petitions are making a difference.

In fact, right after the petitions started flooding into Fr. Jenkins’ office, he announced plans to attend the March for Life in Washington, D.C. on January 22.

Puzzling though…

How can a Catholic priest refuse lenience for 88 peaceful pro-life advocates, while making plans to attend the March for Life?

The blaring contradiction jumps out, especially when those facing charges—up to one year in jail—include an elderly Catholic priest, nuns, and Norma McCorvey, the “Roe” of the Roe v. Wade decision, who now opposes abortion.  And their presence on campus was completely non-threatening.  They were simply praying a peaceful Rosary. Read more.

Let’s turn this effort into a complete victory:  Please pick up your phone and call Fr. Jenkins at University of Notre Dame today.  Leave a message on his answering machine.

Talking points: (Always be polite)
Fr. Jenkins, my name is _____________ and I am calling to urge you to ask the county prosecutor to drop the trespass charges against the 88 pro-lifers who entered the Notre Dame campus in May.
The 88 pro-lifers were peaceful and non-violent.  They are faithful to God’s law.  And as a Catholic priest, I don’t understand why you wouldn’t show them lenience… especially since most of them are good Catholics.
I would appreciate hearing back from you on this important matter.  Please call me at (your number).

I am convinced your phone call will have a lot of impact.

May our prayers and efforts help restore the true Catholic identity of an institution which carries the name of Our Blessed Mother and thus repair the scandal caused to so many souls.

Thank you very much for your support and friendship.

Trusting in God’s final victory,

John Ritchie
