In a press release sent out today by Jenny Hodges, she writes:

Tuesday, July 7th was financial disclosure day for the candidates. Yesterday’s disclosures are a welcomed victory for the McBerry team. Having campaigned for a mere 3 months and spent fifteen thousand dollars, the message of hope, liberty, and victory is ringing loud and clear across our great state.

Ray burst onto the political scene in February of this year under the proud banner of states’ rights. This message has permeated all of Georgia being the foremost issue for Democrats and Republicans alike. Democratic Gubernatorial commercials decry states’ rights, while Republican Congressmen and candidates have picked up the mantra seeing the support of Georgians for Ray’s message.

Similarly, Ray’s bold declaration that life is the Lord’s and the protection of life is the duty of civil government, has impacted other campaigns, and forced watered down vague innuendo to become clear assertions that prenatal murder in Georgia is unacceptable and wrong.

Never before in Georgia politics has a message spread so rapidly with so little money and no previous name recognition. Our army consists of volunteers, men and women of faith, who comprise the largest volunteer network in this Gubernatorial campaign, and who recognize that now is the time.

To whom do we credit this accomplishment? The Arm of the Lord.

When our future seems bleak, federal tyranny looms large, and the Georgia Republican leadership remains hopeless and unwilling to push back on federal shackles and tyranny, we stand certain that this battle is the Lord’s and we will be victorious. We will gain back our life and liberty. We will stand against federal intrusion and tyranny, and stand bold in the face of an evil that has engulfed our nation.

We invite you to join our army of freedom fighters. The coming year will see the advance of truth, hope, and faith, and the further revelation that Georgia will lead the nation into new life and liberty, advance states’ rights, and send a clear message of rebuke to an out of control federal government.

Our states’ rights tour kicks off in Cherokee County on Aug. 1st, and from there we will go across the state, engaging, educating, and encouraging Georgians in town hall meetings everywhere. We look to empower Georgians with the truth that self-government, personal responsibility, and solid faith make up the true course for a new tomorrow.

Ray McBerry is a statesman of faith, firm resolve, and unbending determination that life and liberty are ours. We look forward to having him as Georgia’s Republican States’ Rights Governor.

Dear Cherish Life Family!
Starting Wednesday, July 8th, Alovita/ProLifeUnity will be hosting a monthly prayer meeting in Atlanta, GA for all sidewalk counselors and those who are prayer warriors out at the abortion mills.
We highly encourage all those who cherish life to come and pray for & with these front-line soldiers as often as you can for the strength, comfort, wisdom, guidance, protection, peace & joy they need to continue in the struggle - namely to be filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit! (If you live outside of GA, please join with us in spirit!)

While we will focus our prayers upon the special intentions/needs of the sidewalk counselors/prayer warriors, it will be a time of united intercession and spiritual fellowship for all of us who are fighting for the lives of the preborn, elderly, handicapped & disabled here in GA - that we all might be guided together as a family by Our Heavenly Father to win this battle which He has already won, and to pray for the conversion of all those who in any way support/promote the culture of death!
It will be an hour or so of nothing but prayer together as the Body of Christ!
Apostle Camy Arnett & his ministry, BYOBB (Bring Your Own Bible Baby!) have agreed to lead us in prayer each month despite their incredibly busy schedule - several of you met them at the 40 Days for Life kickoff in the Spring of 2008 and also the other night at the Alovita Dinner, and I’m sure you will agree they have a gift for prayer and song! Members of BYOBB came out to the abortion mills at West Wieuca Rd. and Cliff Valley Rd. last summer to pray & sidewalk counsel & they were AMAZING! They have a powerful street evangelism ministry & many other ministries reaching people for Jesus through various cultural outreaches, including a weekly tv show on several stations - check out their website! http://www.byobb.tv/
When? 2nd Wed of each month, starting July 8th
What time? 7pm to ?? (1-2 hours; leave when ya need to)
Where? July 8th will be in Dunwoody, near Perimeter Mall (call/e-mail me for specific location); subsequent months @ a central location to be announced
Bring? your Bible, a heart ready to pray & sing!
(Dinner not included.)
Feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions! Hope to c-ya there! :-)

The Lord has recently raised up 3 new Black ladies here in GA, passionate in the fight for Life, Liberty & Unity! We are so pleased by this answer to prayer as the regular sidewalk counselors/prayer warriors will attest that 95% of moms going into the mills are Black and we therefore so desperately need the witness & outreach of the Black Community out at the mills and State Capitol.

LaNell Babbage-Torres has already started answering a call to lead annual Mothers Day and Fathers Day Choose Life Vigils/Rallies at the Capitol and starting next year festivals beforehand. In LaNell’s words, they will be “a platform for all Pro-Life (as well as other Christian Family) outreaches to come together . We are fighting the same fight on many fronts, as God has called us to do. We are the answer the world is looking for. This will be a time of celebration, intercession and education on the support that God has made available, for we are His Body. The world will come to the party and get the Word in Love, Forgiveness and Example. I will invite organizations who teach abstinence, traditional marriage, voting for pro-life & Judeo-Christian values etc. Our great commission starts with Life! This move of God in unity will spread to all 50 states. Keep me in your prayers as I will be praying for you also.”

You can check out the video of the rally LaNell led at the Capitol on Mothers Day by clicking here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_EEJrNSXHc
LaNell wrote: “I had a friend shoot the video and the bagpiper is Nathan Mann. Please send out the link to everyone as I want as many people as possible to see it. The cost per video, if anyone would like to purchase a copy, is $10.00, so any donation over that would be appreciated to offset the original production costs. I would like to help Nathan with as much work as possible, he is a great kid. He supports the cause. Any help anyone can give in getting the word out on the video is greatly needed. I want to do this every year on both Mother’s & Father’s Day. That is the most important thing to me!!” E-mail me at margaritaszechenyi@gmail.com if you would like more info on the video.

Nathan Mann did an amazing job at the Fathers Day Vigil at the Capitol on 6/21 - you can read about that vigil in a separate article.

Two other ladies have begun sidewalk counseling and praying at the mills ~

Jaqueline M. led a group out at the mill on West Wieuca shortly after receiving her training! She has been going there each Saturday and is looking for someone to join her. Please e-mail me at margaritaszechenyi@gmail.com if you can join her on a Saturday, and for more info.

Jaqueline (Jackie) also purchased two LARGE very powerful photographic signs and assembled backings for them, toting them behind her in a wheeled wire mesh cart. It’s like she’s been doing this for years!! She is one cool lady!!!

A third lady has been praying out at Governors Ridge and recently counseled a couple for the first time! She is most gracious and filled with the Spirit, and happy to have been led to Sarah (aka “Sarita”) to fulfill a strong calling to become active in pro-life.

Please keep these ladies in your prayers!

Last weekend saw two powerful vigils, one at Governors Ridge in Marietta, and one at the Capitol downtown.
On Saturday morning (6/20), before dawn there were over 100 people lining the sidewalk in front of Governors Ridge office park holding candles and signs, praying & singing.
Shortly after dawn, by 7am, there were 154 people, Hispanic, White, Black, Protestant, Catholic - truly a show of unity - but we owe a huge debt of gratitude to Sarita Davila and the over 100 Hispanic brothers and sisters who were there and who so faithfully come, many of them, on a weekly or even daily basis. (Please keep all prayer warriors/sidewalk counselors in your prayers, especially the daily folks.)
Sarah reported that the number of abortions was down from it’s usual number to 10 last Saturday, so we hope that means many decided not to turn in upon seeing all the prayer warriors.
Republican candidate for GA Governor, Ray McBerry, led some of the prayers shortly after dawn. Later Ray said he was deeply moved by the experience of being at the mill and for the first time seeing a woman drive past him only moments away from having an abortion. He noted that she purposefully avoided looking at the many people praying along the sidewalk, obviously affected by their silent, loving witness of prayer. Ray and son and all who saw her prayed deeply from the heart for her, with much grief for baby & mom.
Padre Jaime, a local priest was also there - this makes the 4th or 5th Saturday in a row Padre has accompanied them at Governors Ridge.

On Sunday evening (6/21), LaNell Babbage-Torres led a group in witness and prayer at the GA State Capitol downtown. The combination of Nathan playing the bagpipe from the Capitol steps with a large photographic poster of a baby at 8 weeks after conception, and the words, “Happy Fathers Day! Choose Life!” was quite powerful and many young men drove by taking note of it all.

It was wonderful to have LaNell and Jacqueline Meneese, two relatively new sidewalk counselors/prayer warriors out there, because they give powerful witness to the Black community, who are losing the greatest number of children proportionately to abortion.

A man and his daughter drove by, parked nearby and joined us - turns out they were with a pro-life group, IHOP (International House of Prayer) in Kansas City, were in town for the weekend, and happened to drive past the Capitol Bldg.

At one point, we prayed with a homeless man, Richard, who was preparing his bed for the night across the street in the doorway of the church. Richard did most of the praying, and totally blew me away with his depth of faith and gratitude to God for all His blessings - I was moved to tears by the witness & beauty of this man. Please keep him and another young homeless man, Shey, in your prayers.
Although the group was small, we all felt the power of the Holy Spirit in a BIG way as we prayed together for the legislators and people of Georgia, especially the dads. The Lord impressed it upon my heart from the experience that what may seem to be small in the eyes of the world, when blessed by God, has great power in the spiritual realm (Mark 4:30-32 came to mind), and that even if just one or two people pray at the mills or govt buildings for His Kingdom to come, it is of great power & effect.
I’d like to share a little more of what the Lord has put upon LaNell’s heart in leading these first annual Mothers Day and Fathers Day Choose Life Vigils/Rallies at the Capitol and hopefully next year festivals beforehand. In LaNell’s words, they will be “a platform for all Pro-Life (as well as other Christian Family) outreaches to come together. We are fighting the same fight on many fronts, as God has called us to do. We are the answer the world is looking for. This will be a time of celebration, intercession and education on the support that God has made available, for we are His Body. Keep me in your prayers as I will be praying for you also.”
Thanks to all for your prayers, whether at the mills, from church or from home!

Dear Cherish Life Family,
Please join gubanatorial candidate, Ray McBerry on Saturday, June 20th for a peaceful candlelight Fathers Day Vigil in front of Governors Ridge Office Park in Marietta, home to an abortion mill which kills hundreds of babies each month in Cobb County.
Ray is a strong Christian and a daddy who homeschools his son and is passionate about advancing a culture of Life & Liberty in GA for his son and all Georgians. He recognizes & upholds prayer as the most effective means of bringing about change in society.
Because the terror afflicted upon GA’s preborn and the great harm done to their moms and families by abortion is an atrocity of maximum concern to Ray, he has pledged to have all abortion mills in GA shut down by the end of his tenure as Governor, should he be elected.
We will gather with Sarita Davila in the parking lot on the corner of Windy Hill and Terrell Mill Roads at 5am to get our candles and line up along the sidewalk before the staff and moms start arriving at 5:30.
Ray will lead prayers from 6-7am, and the vigil will continue until about 10am or whenever the last couple and abortionist has left the mill. Please feel free to arrive & leave as your schedule permits, and to bring signs if you wish ~ we also have several large signs that we always need volunteers to help hold!
All are welcome and encouraged to join together in prayer before Our Heavenly Father.
Please forward this to your lists and feel free to e-mail me with any questions!

One little bit of info I rec’d today was very exciting - for the meeting I ordered 100 copies of a newspaper we started giving the Black Moms/Dads at the mills; while placing the order, I noticed a Spanish newspaper also and asked if sidewalk counselors have had success using it at the mills. The lady said, “Well….you know Eduardo Verástegui of the movie Bella? He hands them out at the mills in LA when he sidewalk counsels, and in one day the Lord saved 5 babies through the use of that newspaper.” I promptly ordered 100 of those too and cannot wait to see how God will use them here!! For a sneak preview of both, click here:
http://www.humanlife.org/index.php
(The Spanish one is Ella es una niña, no una “opción”, and the one for the Black moms/dads is Did You Know (with an article by our own beloved Dr. Alveda King in it).
Also, Michelle Wolven, who has been sidewalk counseling locally for 13 years, has confirmed she will be there to share her many insights/experiences with us!
God bless you!

Last week was a powerful reminder that God is at work & that we must keep going! The Lord is raising up many new sidewalk counselors and prayer warriors at the mills here in GA, and last week saw three babies saved and two candle-light Mothers Day Vigils. Below are 3 accounts shared by a sidewalk counselor and the 2 Mothers Day vigil coordinators (slightly edited for length).

Jackie is a new sidewalk counselor who led a group in sidewalk counseling out at West Wieuca Saturday, May 2nd. Jackie, by the way, likes to refer to herself as “the Black lady” because the Lord stirred her heart at a panel discussion at GA Tech where she heard Jenny Hodges and Catherine Davis sound the call for more black sidewalk counselors & activists. Jackie’s on fire for the babies & moms - please keep her in your prayers. Her account of Sat, May 2nd is also included below. By the way, two other black ladies have heard the Lord’s call uponn their heart and have been going out to Gov Ridge for a while now - we desperately need them as 90-95% of the moms going in are black.

Some additional exciting news is that Lisa E. of Church of the Apostles in Atlanta, a newly trained sidewalk counselor, has been taking out ladies from her Bible Study once or twice a week to West Wieuca to train them in sidewalk counseling and prayer support. Please keep Lisa and her growing group in your prayers.
At the regular “2nd shift” Friday vigil with Nancy at West Wieuca, the group is now up to about 6.
Many new prayer warriors and potential sidewalk counselors continue to come out to Governors Ridge thanks to Sarah’s & Griselle’s recruitment efforts.
Praise God for how He is bringing all these new people into the effort!

“A young lady came over to us and said she was not going to abort. Some from our group took her to breakfast, while I stayed. There was another young lady who didn’t abort because she didn’t have the money. I told her that there were centers that would help her in carrying her baby to term & she wrote down the information ~ she said she would keep her child if she had some help. I pray that she did call the center.”

Friday, May 8th at West Wieuca, by Ron Flagg:

Dear Friends in Christ,
Jesus saved a baby this morning at W. Weiuca at about 6:45am. Six of us were there on the sidewalk in prayer and our hearts overflowed with joy when a couple stopped at the exit and rolled down their window to tell us they had changed their minds. There were many tears flowing and we sensed the mom was anxious to leave the premises, so we were only able to get her name, Terry, and no other (i.e. contact) information. Please pray (1) in praise and thanksgiving, and (2) for issues that Terry is or will be dealing with. I want to also thank Jackie and RuthAnn for joining us on the sidewalk with their powerful prayers.
We had 3 Protestants and 3 Catholics on the sidewalk united in prayer and I believe Jesus was most pleased to see Christians together in prayer against the culture of death.
Next week we will go back to our normal schedule, which means arriving at 6:30 to 6:45am. We invite/encourage those who were unable to be there today to join us in the future in our ministry saving Jesus’ babies.
For Life (always!)
Ron

Saturday, May 9th at Governors Ridge, Marietta, by Sarah (aka “Sarita”):

Dear brothers and sisters,
Today was really beautiful at Governor’s Ridge! Prayer warriors began arriving shortly after 5am, and by the time everyone was in place, there were 128 of us praying and holding lit candles, up and down the sidewalk. At one point the count reached 135!
Only 7 women had abortions today, which is very low, compared to 12 or 13 the last few Saturdays, and especially compared to the 20-30 that were common every Saturday, before the economy took a nosedive.
An added blessing was the presence of two priests: Father Jaime Molina, from St. Thomas the Apostle and Father Manuel Rivas, from Holy Family. English-speaking participants in the vigil hailed from various parishes, and there were also representatives from Students for Life at Georgia Tech. A huge delegation of Hispanic parishioners came from St. Thomas the Apostle, and three Brazilian parishioners arrived from Holy Family. The two priests led us in rosaries and in the Litany of Loreto. As women who appeared to be patients would arrive at the entrance to the complex, we would offer them a long-stemmed, cream-colored rose and literature that we hoped would encourage them not to have an abortion.
When the prayers ended, the Hispanics burst into song, praising God with many joyful choruses in Spanish.
The doctor finished early and left by 9:30am, after which his employees also drove away. As our prayer warriors were preparing to go home, many expressed gratitude for having had the opportunity to participate in this prayer experience.
Thank you to everyone who was unable to attend physically but who, through your prayers, was with us in spirit. Your prayers were very much felt and appreciated, and surely helped to keep expectant mothers away from this place of death, on the eve of the day all mothers should be celebrating Life: Mother’s Day.
In Christ for Life….........Sarita

Your speech on Saturday to the statewide College Republicans included, “it doesn’t really matter which candidate you get behind, as long as they have an R next to their name.”

I would submit to you that this is precisely what is wrong with the Republican party.

In a Republican controlled government, we have the advance of Fascism (an appearance of private property, when in fact the government controls and regulates everything in the private sector), the most restrictive gun laws in the nation (yeah, we even beat California), an un-Constitutional (the Georgia Constitution, that is) and illegal voting system, the most liberal abortion law in the nation, a 30% drop out rate in our schools, we are 49th in the nation for education, and business regulations in the private sector are out of control and appalling.

This is not a record to be proud of. I would hope that you would reconsider this position, and begin to preach real freedom.

The arbiters of tyranny in our state are Republicans. We have found the enemy, and he is us.

It is time to change that. And it begins with radical purging within our own rakes, and a rededication to Constitutionalism and limited government.

Furthermore, there is only one prolife candidate for Governor. The Republican party has failed the unborn in Georgia. That is completely unacceptable. The House and Senate trump legislation that is utterly worthless, and unenforceable as if it is prolife legislation. It is an abomination. God spews out the lukewarm.

Would we dare to assert ourselves before a sovereign God, pleading mercy and justice, while the blood of 35,000 children yearly, pleads more loudly for mercy and justice?

It is my duty as a citizen to rebuke elected officials, as it is the duty of all citizens of Georgia. I submit to you that we have failed you in this capacity. But I will fail no longer. It is my hope that you will lead by serving, and you will serve by recognizing that the government is bound in chains to the Constitution.

When you are faithful in this, you will not find a more true supporter and defender than myself.

For the Life and Liberty of Georgians, born and unborn, ~Jenny Hodges

This year’s adventures in incrementalism in pursuit of civil government recognized personhood, demonstrates an all new low in a prolife industry centered on strategy and not morality. This supposed strategic approach actually garners a loss, much like fractional reserve lending.

HB 388, the “Option of Adoption Act”, is a legislative effort that attempts to move cryogenically suspended humans out of storage and into uteruses with such dehumanizing terms as “legal embryo custodian”, “relinquish rights and responsibilities to an embryo”, and “recipient intended parent.”

The messy legal jargon clearly attempting to objectify cryogenically suspended humans so as not to inadvertently apply the idea of full humanity and protection under the Constitution, raises more questions than it answers. The embryo custodian isn’t referred to as a parent until such time as the embryo transfer may result in a live birth. This would muddy the waters for death certificates issued for post 20 week gestation prenatal babies in the state of Georgia. If you aren’t a parent, and your baby dies after 20 weeks gestation, how can a custodian be issued a death certificate for failed embryonic property?

If one has rights and responsibilities regarding these embryos, what legal responsibility does the in-vetro clinic have for embryos? What if some embryos are killed, aka “discarded” in the process of fertility treatments? What if cryogenically suspended humans are misplaced or thawed to their detriment? On the basis of “embryonic rights and responsibilities” in what way can parents prosecute for the improper care of their embryonic children?

Furthermore, this legislation as currently written would open the floodgates for a new industry in pedaling human property. It would encourage fertility doctors to “create” greater quantities of embryos since money would be made in their care and adoption process. This legislation would give birth to a whole new world of human trafficking.

In January 2008 according to testimony by doctors engaged in human embryo production, during the HR 536 Personhood committee hearings, there were 40,000 cryogenically suspended humans in the state of Georgia. The money to be made in openly trafficking those humans to the adoption market, and increasing inventory supplies through increased embryo production outside the womb, would only add to the dehumanization of children in the modern era of “bioethics.” Market competition would encourage the streamlining of techniques for creating certain traits, sexes, eye color, hair color, and other attributes, as “in-vetro” and adoption clinics vied for business from a growing population afflicted with infertility. In our current economic crisis, college campuses would be flooded with appeals for girls to surrender to egg harvesting for payments of $5,000 or more.

Furthermore, studies are showing that cryogenically suspended humans once brought out of animated suspension and allowed to mature have elevated health risks, and tend to contract certain childhood diseases at a much higher rate than naturally conceived children. An increase in the production of cryogenically suspended humans for the purpose of the embryo adoption industry, would further debilitate a health care system already gone very bad.

Unless this legislation includes an amendment banning any further production of embryos in the state of Georgia outside the womb, it is a grossly misdirected effort, that will advance technology in cloned and made to order babies, further erode the sanctity of human life, and further advance a profitable industry of bio-engineering on helpless human subjects.

A vote in favor of HB 388 the “Option of Adoption Act” as currently written is to vote into existence an industry that will streamline the made to order baby, create mass quantities of cryogenically suspended human embryos as valuable inventory, further erode the sanctity of human life, and increase the likelihood for cloning and production of embryos for stem cell research and other biotechnology purposes and experimentation.

Dear brothers and sisters,
Yesterday (Saturday, March 7) there was a great turnout of prayer warriors at Governor’s Ridge, totalling 44!
A group came all the way from Our Lady of La Salette in Canton, plus we had a large group of students from Pinecrest Academy, along with some parents. There were a couple of students from Georgia Tech, a couple more from Holy Spirit School, a parishioner from St. Catherine’s, one from Holy Family, and a group from St. Thomas the Apostle. We were thrilled to be visited by a priest, Father Manuel Rivas, who is in charge of the Hispanic communities at Holy Family and St. Catherine’s parishes. He hopes to return on March 28th, when the Pinecrest students are planning to come back in even greater numbers.
A total of 17 babies were killed, and we pray that their mothers, fathers, and drivers will find reconciliation with the Lord, healing of their broken hearts, and someday a joyful reunion with their aborted children in Heaven.
An interesting thing happened just as the abortionist, Dr. Daniel McBrayer, was trying to leave the complex. He stopped to wait for the light, and is our custom, all of us who were nearby gathered there to pray for him, in full view of him. Then his engine cut off, and when he tried to start it again, it failed. He was obviously very angry. We were all praying very intensely, and he didn’t like it a bit. He raised his cellphone in the air and appeared to be taking our picture. Finally his car started. One of his employees, Chris, was behind him, in his own car, and witnessed the whole thing. Chris is one we have been trying to persuade to quit since the fall of 2007. We never know what the Lord will do next to try to get the doctor’s attention!
Have you possibly considered coming to join us for an hour of prayer during Lent? We are in great need of prayer volunteers, especially during the week, when it is harder to find people who are available. If your schedule will allow you to come any day during the week in the morning, even for just an hour, please contact me.
One last thing: Please pray for Sylvia, our mother from Ghana who chose Life, whose baby boy is due to be born by C-section tomorrow morning ( March 9th) at noon, that her delivery will be a blessed one!
In Christ for Life….....Sarita
