§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

1 Samuel 17:45   Thought/Prayer:  His Name is Enough.  Topics:  2 at end.

1 Samuel 17:45   “Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.”  KJV http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com

We give thanks on Thanksgiving Day.  And of course if we give thanks, that means there is Someone beyond ourselves to hear the thanks-giving, and we know that He is God, Lord over all.  We don’t give thanks to the walls of our house or the trees in the yard.  We thank Someone.

And when we are thanks-giving, we surely must contemplate our God and His character, and perhaps we could think of David who boldly declares that he comes “in the name of the LORD of hosts, . . . “  He is such a great God that even his Name is enough to represent His character and power.  In this scripture, David doesn’t even mention the weapon with which he will take on Goliath the Philistine.  (We know that it was simply a stone, but even that is not mentioned, only the name of God.)

On Thanksgiving Day we will perhaps pray in the name of God as we thank him and ask his blessings on us.  We will set His name before our families and friends as the One to whom we give our thanks on this day.  Perhaps we could also think of families in crisis pregnancies who may find it difficult to thank the Lord for everything in their lives.  May we in our hearts, if not aloud, remember them as we thank their own Creator for our lives and our feasts.

Lord, we pray that on Thanksgiving Day we will have hearts larger than our stomachs, to give true glory to our God and to remember those in the womb who, if a choice were given, would want to live, to live and eventually to also praise You.  We ask this with thanksgiving for all your blessings and mercies.

Topics:  Pray for God to be especially extolled this Thanksgiving Day and that we will remember those in family situations that could deplete their joy and thanks for this day.  May they be thankful for new life.
