§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

§ Action Code

Help promote the Pro-Life Action Calls which are put out by Pro-Life organizations nationwide.

1 Thessalonians 3:1,2 Thought/Prayer: “. .  so you wouldn’t be discouraged”

Topics: 2 at end.

The Apostle Paul is speaking:  “So when we couldn’t stand being separated from you any longer and could find no way to visit you ourselves, we stayed in Athens and sent Timothy to get you up and about, cheering you on so you wouldn’t be discouraged by these hard times. He’s a brother and companion in the faith, God’s man in spreading the Message, preaching Christ.”

My job is to encourage, at least in part.  As administrator of an Internet Christian prayer ministry, how could my job not include the entity of encouragement?  How can anyone who prays, who really prays (and I certainly don’t say that I “really” pray enough or perfectly at all!), actually live with discouragement?

But we know that this happens; even the most faithful pray-er will sometimes wrestle with negativism and doubt.  If this didn’t occur simultaneously with belief, it would not be mentioned in the Bible.  We just wish the song, “Hard Times Come Again No More” written by Stephen Collins Foster in 1855, were true every minute of life.

But we can be encouraged by this scripture from I Thessalonians.  Those who promote the culture of life endure hard times over and over, times when God seems to be ignoring efforts, commitments and prayers.  But this scripture says that we can lean upon one another, and if enough of us leaning on one another are, together, leaning upon our all-powerful God, there is no need for discouragement.  His leaning-post never weakens.  He knows the plan from beginning to end, and His own end.

Pray today that words of encouragement from our Lord will infiltrate negative thinking on the part of pro-life folks.

Topics:  Pray again for any and all pro-life persons suffering depression because of discouragement in the cause.

Pray for miracles in the thinking of men and women, that God, however subtly,  will turn beliefs to LIFE.
