§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

1 Timothy 4:12   Thought/Prayer:  Despise Not Youthfulness.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”  KJV  (Read this scripture and more at

Posted 02-23-2010 by Pro-Life Unity president Peter Shinn, co-founder of Prayer Pivot for Life:  Lia Mills is an 8th grade student from Toronto, Ontario. As part of a school assignment for the 7th-grade and for entry into a related speech competition, she chose to write a speech on the topic of abortion. Although she was strongly encouraged not to pursue this topic and though she was threatened with disqualification on a number of occasions, she pressed on and continued with the topic of abortion. Despite the obstacles, she made it through to the end of the competition.

In addition, the YouTube video of her speech went viral and the original posting has been viewed by over 850,000 people from around the world. Her video has been reposted many times and translated into several languages. Lia is a proud recipient of the Susan B. Anthony Young Leaders Award and the Toronto Right to Life Media Award. She does itinerant speaking on the topic of abortion and had the honour of speaking before a crowd of 12,000 people on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario. Lia is a competitive dancer who also loves to read, sew and do scrap-booking.

Lia joins Teen Defenders as the spokesperson to help reach the youth, those most likely to be influenced by negative life messages from the school systems and from the media.

Need I say more?  Lia’s account speaks volumes of beauty for itself.  Blessings to you, Lia. And on December 17, 2009, a Pivot account of a baby being saved by a little girl, Annie, outside an abortion clinic, was a blessing to write.  We must not despise youth; God loves them so.

Lord, let us be certain in our quest for LIFE, to include young persons with their fresh outlooks and intensities.  Let us support them with prayer and in many, many other ways.

Topics:  Pray for the youth of America; they seem to be more open than many others to the truth about abortion and LIFE.  May they increasingly grow in this direction.
