§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

2 Cor. 3:18 (Pt. 2) Thought/Prayer: Christ In Glory Behind Us. Topics:  2 at end.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”  KJV (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

This is the way it is said in Young’s Literal Translation:  “And we all, with unvailed face, the glory of the Lord beholding in a mirror, to the same image are being transformed, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”  YLT

The Young’s Literal Translation mentions a mirror, used to reflect the Lord’s glory.  Maybe we could picture it some way.  How would that work, this seeing His glory in a mirror?  In order for a mirror to reflect Christ, might He possibly be standing behind us?  The mirror would reveal to us his presence.  Maybe we would walk into a room with a mirror on a dresser.  And suddenly we would see Him in the mirror.  Right there is the glory.  We would see Him in the mirror, and we would surely feel His presence in the room.

What a blessed surprise that would be!  And just how would we react?  Maybe we’d be intensely speechless before that Presence.  Maybe we would fall to our knees, weak as they would become.  But however we would react, there would be something for us in the setting pertaining to that reflected glory.  We’re to be transformed by it, into it, according to this scripture.  And, being in this Presence, we could probably have just a glint of understanding as to how this transformation could be:  All because of Him; all because of His glory.  If our hearts are open, when He is with us, we’re being transformed.

But most of us will never see Christ’s glory in a literal mirror.  But just thinking about it can affect our hearts and lives.  If we could actually see Him standing beside us during our everyday days, we’d want to be more like Him because of the regal glory.  We’d want to go from being in His presence of glory to being more like Him in His glory, from within.

Try going about during one of those everyday days, as though holding up a mirror and His face shining out of it toward our faces.  Picture Him right there behind us.  Because, actually, He is.  We don’t see His presence with us, but it’s always there.  Maybe picturing it this way will help us love Him more.

Lord, help us to never forget your continuing, ever-present presence with us.  And help us to know that you can stand behind every person if they will only ask You into their hearts and lives.  Help us to picture this happening for those struggling with LIFE issues today.  Help us to pray for it.

Topics:  Pray for Jesus to stand behind every pregnant mother today, either as Savior or as the Savior calling to them to come to salvation in Him.
