§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

2 Corinthians 1:12 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  Above the Flesh.  Topics:  2 at end.

“For our glorying is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, we did conduct ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you; . . .”  (YLT)  Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com

How is it that we can conduct ourselves by being above fleshly wisdom?  By being in the grace of God.  How easy is this to do?  Very easy; very non-easy.

Yes, it is true than when we become Christians, we do so only by the grace of God and His abiding love for us.  We are saved through mercy and grace.  But when it comes to living in it 24/7/365, we may seem to flounder a bit.  We, of course, being made with our personal wills, want to do it “My Way,” as a popular song croons out.  So what’s wrong with your way or my way?  Perhaps very little.  Perhaps you, for example, are the epitome of a life lived in grace, giving God glory; seeking His will in absolutely everything, 24/7/365.  Brother or sister, more power to you from above!

Yes, there are some Christians who are so given over to the Lord that they really do seem to live in grace . . . most of the time.  And their hearts are probably centered there, or they would not give off the essence of Christ as they do, continually.  The Lord needs these folks!  And surely they live as they do because of a willingness to give themselves over to His grace daily, or by the minute.

But for a lot of us, living above our fleshly selves seems a great challenge.  Some of the more strong-willed of us will fight against control from “Someone” else possibly (but those the strong-willed of us may accomplish great feats in the Lord).  Even those of us with milder personalities may still struggle.  This is because of the wills God imbedded into us; but when we choose Him, to rise above our wills and our fleshly selves, then He is more greatly honored.  No puppets here; puppets can’t choose.  We can.

Lord, we often struggle against our fleshly selves, that part of us with those wills you gave us.  But help us to serve others from pure sincerity as we stand for Your created LIFE.  We pray that You will guide our hearts into greater and greater rising-above the flesh, that we can better serve others in You.

Topics:  Pray for sincere desires to live our lives not in fleshly wisdom, but above the flesh and to thus bring more glory to our Lord.
