2 Corinthians 3:18   Thought/Prayer:  Idea of Glory to Glory.  Topics:  2 at end.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”  KJV (Read this scripture and more at

How He changes us!  Maybe it’s a form of “glory into glory,” as this scripture words things.  The scripture speaks of being changed into the image of His glory.  Of course we can never be as “glorified” as he is.  Never ever.  There’s only one glorified Jesus.  But maybe there is a way, a sweet way, to illustrate this here on planet Earth.  With conception and birth.

Maybe we can think of it like this:  The Lord’s glory is displayed every time a new person is conceived in Mother’s womb.  This miraculous occurrence of joining the egg and sperm can come from no Other than the Lord of the Universe, our God.  What a glorious thing it is even to think of it.  This joining results in an entire new entity, a new being for the Earth to host as home.

Then perhaps we might take the liberty to see the birth of that resulting child as a glorious happening.  The glory of the fertilized egg has now become the glory of a brand new God-fashioned person with characteristics from both the egg and sperm, and the potential to have characteristics of Christ later when Christ is received as Savior.

And therein a third type of glory resides:  the glory of Jesus Christ being present in our world, through those who do know Him as Savior and Lord, we Christians.  We stand, speak, and act for Him—through Him— as we live out our lives.  And therein is glory.  As we let Him in, as we let Him work in us, we gain more aspects of His glory.  “Oh glory:  Let it be,” we might say.

So as God works to create a glorious new person, to that person’s birth on Earth, to the glory of being changed as persons know the Lord as Savior, it’s a wonder.  It’s through His Spirit that this all happens.
Lord, let us say, “Glory be.”  Yes, let glory be, Lord.  We ask that we might recognize it, especially in the face of a newborn person.  Lord, let us let you bring us from the glory of conception to the glory of a life well-lived because of Your glory.

Topics:  Pray for more words to tell the Lord how much we love Him in His glory and how much we want to grow in glory as we grow into Him more and more.
