§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

2 John 1:4-6 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  All Love.  Topics:  2 at end.

This letter, written by the Apostle John is to a Christian lady and her children.
Walking in the Truth
“I rejoice greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, even as we have been commanded by the Father. Now I beg you, dear lady, not as though I wrote to you a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. This is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, even as you heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.”  (WEB)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

The command to love one another was not new, John wrote.  He says it is “. . . not as though I wrote to you a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.”  From the beginning.  God is from the beginning.  God is love, as we see in I John 4:16:  “And we have known and believed the love that God has to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him.”  (AKJV) So it follows that love was there . . . or we might say here . . . from the beginning.

In Ephesians 3:17 the apostle Paul speaks of being “rooted and grounded” in love.  In Hebrews 13:1 we are told to let love of the brethren continue.  It’s another way of saying, “love one another.”  You see, Christians are all brothers and sisters . . .  brethren . . . because we are all God’s children through the Savior of all of us, Jesus Christ.

I Corinthians 13;13:  “And we have known and believed the love that God has to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him.”  (AKJV)

I Corinthians 16:14:  The Weymouth New Testament puts it nicely:  “Let all that you do be done from motives of love.”

Lord, we pray that as we serve you in many ways, according to the differences You have placed within our personalities and skills, interests and gifts, that LOVE rule.  Lord, let us not do one thing in our ministries that is not based in love.  Nothing, Lord.  As we stand for the love You gave in creating life itself, Nothing, Lord.

Topics:  Pray for faithfulness in love.
