§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

2 Sam.23:1-4(Pt 3)Thought/Prayer:Tender Grass,Sweet.Topics:2@end.

From David’s Last Song:
“Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse says, the man who was raised on high says, the anointed of the God of Jacob, the sweet psalmist of Israel:
’The Spirit of Yahweh spoke by me. His word was on my tongue.
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, ‘One who rules over men righteously, who rules in the fear of God,
shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, when the tender grass springs out of the earth, through clear shining after rain.’” WBS (Read this scripture and more at

First comes the sunshine, then the rain, then the sunshine again.  This beautiful poem (Psalms are poems - or set to music as songs) displays words to turn us to a morning with no clouds, with the sun rising.  Just think of a beautiful cloudless sunrise morning:  The first light is so soft and pure, as it begins to shine on our day.  If we are up early, we can drink in this soft-glancing light before the sun rises to shine more directly on us.

But then, later, we see that the grass grows up out of the ground because of sunshine after the rain.  We can imagine that a morning involves new, graceful sunshine; then some rain; then more sunshine.  It’s the rain and then sunshine that causes the grass to grow up through sod, tender and new.

There are even songs about rain coming into our lives, and it is not always thought of as positive.  Sometimes rain is equated with bad things that can happen in live.  Windy, lashing rain can be very bad.
But here, the rain combines with sunshine to cause growth of something positive:  grass.

In our lives we have sunshine; we have rain.  Events can bring one or the other.  But as we live out our days, the sunshine and rain can combine to bring new growth to our lives, sweet and pure.  It is its discovery that can seem to hold a promise.  The grass growing up has the promise of becoming part of a beautiful lawn or landscape.  Our “grass” in our lives can become a part of others’ lives, again, sweet and pure.

Lord, thank you that we have both sun and rain in our lives, real and in life experiences.  Help us to be sensitive to others going through bad storms in life, especially when dealing with LIFE issues.  We want to be sunshine and rain to them.

Topics:  Pray for great usage of sun and rain in our lives and in the lives of those in the struggles for LIFE decisions.
