2 Thessalonians 3:16 Thought/Prayer: Peace At All Times, In All Ways. Topics: 2 at end.
“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with you all.” (WEB) (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com
At the end of this letter to the Christians in Thessalonica, Paul writes the words above. Here there is no doubt that Jesus has a lot to do with peace in the world. Paul tells his readers (and thus us) that Christ is the Lord of peace. And He asks that the Lord give the believers peace not only now and then, but “. . . peace at all times in all ways.” Now that is a pretty big deal.
How can the Lord of peace give us peace at all times and in all ways? Most of us probably don’t know the answer to that, except that the Lord is the Lord, and if he is the Lord of peace himself, then this is possible. Paul’s hope here may be that his fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord in Thessalonica will be so close to the Lord that His peace will dwell with them always and in every way possible.
Yes, being close to the Lord may have a lot to do with it. This, for many of us, is not an easy thing. God made us human, and with our humanity comes the penchant toward worry. Is there someone who never has ever worried? Well 99.9% of us probably worry!
But, let us make our prayer as such. “Lord, please help me to lean on You and to know You well through prayer and the study of Your word and the fellowship of other believers. Lord, I need to know Your peace. Give me the Bible passages that will help me with this. And help me to believe that You are always with me and are always watching out for me and for all those I love. I know that this is the truth, so help me to absorb it as such and to live in such a way that Your presence and guidance will take the place of worry. Please, Lord, help me toward peace at all times, in every way. Thank you.”
And also, pray for the Lord to help those who lack great peace because of LIFE issues and conflicts with pregnancy, aging, disability, and more.
Topics: Pray for the Lord’s peaceful Presence to fill your every moment. Ask Him to help You be open to receiving it.
