§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Acts 17:10,11 (Pt.3)  Thought/Prayer:  Diligent.  Topics:  2 at end.

“The brethren at once sent Paul and Silas away by night to Beroea, and they, on their arrival, went to the synagogue of the Jews. The Jews at Beroea were of a nobler disposition than those in Thessalonica, for they very readily received the Message, and day after day searched the Scriptures to see whether it was as Paul stated.”  WEY (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

The Christians in Berea were very interested in total truth.  They did not take for granted even words the Apostle Paul spoke.  They were deep into digging down in the scriptures and testing whether Paul was speaking the truth.  We don’t know exactly what scriptures they were searching so intently – but we must surely be able to say that Paul was expounding to them the reality that Christ was the fulfillment of the law under which the Jewish people had lived so many hundreds of years.

This message of Paul’s was so different from the teachings the Israelites had lived under for all of those years.  The Bereans were not about to just accept it outright; they wanted to look for proof.  And they are still remembered for their diligence in studying God’s Word.

Of course, back then, the New Testament had not been written; but it was, in a sense, in process, since the writings of Paul and others later came to form the collection of books that we know as the New Testament.  But the searching that Bereans did also helped lay the foundation for the continuance of the faith:  Once someone believed, then it became possible for others to do the same as the witness spread.

Lord, help us to be diligent to search the scriptures . . . to examine them . . . to know Your words and their application to life.  When we want to help others, such as pro-LIFE involvements, a very solid thing we can do is to continually search and receive.

Topics:  Pray for diligence to search the scriptures, to be able then to share with others the treasure trove of love and guidance within.
