§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Acts 17:24-28 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Reach Out for Him.  Topics:  2 at end.

“The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, doesn’t dwell in temples made with hands, neither is he served by men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath, and all things. He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons, and the boundaries of their dwellings, that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. ‘For in him we live, and move, and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also his offspring.’”  (WEB)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

The portion of this scripture at which we will look today, from Paul’s address to the Aeropagus in Athens, is this:  “He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons, and the boundaries of their dwellings, that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.”

Consideration of this will be rather short and to the point.  All persons on Earth are created to seek the Lord, to reach out for him and to find Him.  (Many would say that there is something built into the human make-up that has a yearning for a Creator.)  Over time, generation after generation; culture after culture; there are records of this desire to relate “beyond” our confines of the Earth, to understand something “more.”  Paul, here, says it so simply.  God is MORE.  THE More.  And if we reach out for God, we can find Him.”

He is there for all of us, including the women carrying an unplanned baby, a woman who knows not what her future holds with this often-unwanted child.  We know that God wants her to know Him because she is included in the verse above, saying that “he is not far from each one of us.”  She is an “each” one to God.

How will she get to know Him if she does not already?  Partly, it is through her desire to get answers, answers that are not readily available in her life.  So she may seek “more.”  And, when doing this search, God will be close enough that she may reach Him.  Through His Son, Jesus Christ, this woman will be convicted by the Holy Spirit to search.  And God will send someone to her to explain salvation through Christ.  But even if no one is chosen to come to her, God will be revealing Himself.  Many have come to know Christ through His direct calling to them.

Those who want to advance honor in created life will pray for such as these mothers.  Lord, help us to remember to do this, to sit or kneel before You, in contrition for our own unworthiness, but in full belief of the worthiness of the babe in the womb.  Help us to guide hands reaching out, to find the face and the hands of God.

Topics:  Pray for prayers to not cease, for struggling women with unplanned pregnancies.
