§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Acts 17:26, 27 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  Seasons, Another Take.  Topics:  2 at end.

“He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons, and the boundaries of their dwellings, that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.”  WEB   (Read these scriptures and more at

There can be an interpretation of this scripture that has nothing to do with weather or trees budding and flowering.  We’re told that God “. . . made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons, and the boundaries of their dwellings,” . . . These word mentioning seasons may not have to do with spring or summer, etc., as much as they do with the seasons of life.  God is speaking of nations here, and that blood is the common factor in all men and women – and there are seasons appointed for all nations.

We know that nations over thousands of years have risen and fallen; and perhaps there have been seasons for each.  A “season” of influence may last for an epoch, such as Egypt’s long-held place as the advanced empire of the time, for over 2500 years.

We speak of many different lengths of time as seasons; and usually we refer to something associated with these time periods that set it apart from other time amounts.  For instance, we may refer to a season of prosperity or a season of enduring many challenges.  We say that things come and go by seasons in many ways.  People of prayer may engage in a season of prayer – a time set aside for special emphasis on prayer.  2 Timothy 4:2 advises us preach God’s Word in season and out.

So just as we take note of seasonal changes from nature, perhaps we need to take stock of the seasons through which we advance in life, knowing that from time to time they do change, becoming different for ease - or for struggle.  The season of grief over the loss of some dear person may be one of the most difficult of all, be it intensely brief or lasting and lengthening.

Lord, we ask You to help us define our seasons of our lives and then to take stock of how we are living, going through them.  We ask for You to give us understanding and compassion for those whose current difficult season involves making decisions no one wants to have to make, regarding LIFE issues, death and life.  We trust You on this, Lord, to help us.

Topics:  Pray for wisdom to discern our own and others’ seasons of LIFE in order to speak to them and to address whatever issues we can.
