§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Acts 17:26, 27 (Pt. 4)  Thought/Prayer:  Seasonings of Life.  Topics:  2 at end.

“He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons, and the boundaries of their dwellings, that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.”  WEB   (Read these scriptures and more at

How do you season, in your seasons?  If you are going through a season of frustration of life’s offerings to you, how do you “season” your ways?  Do you load on a lot of hot pepper out of frustration?  Do you over-salt to the point of inedibility because you’re mad all the time?  Do you sink five sour lemons in iced tea and then offer it as someone’s afternoon refresher?  (Watch them pucker!)

Or, if you’re sad about things, do you hide behind sweet vanilla cookies of sweet almond paste?  Do you sugar even the sweetest strawberry because of the little relief sugar may give your thoughtful mood?  (Not that sugar is all bad . . . in the right amount . . . and it does give us a lift in feelings sometimes.)  Maybe it’s brown sugar that gives a recipe a bit of a seasoned change.

Are you gleeful about life?  Maybe you honor your sweet tooth and toss on certain spices.  Cinnamon on a cookie; nutmeg on egg nog.  Ginger can make us really spicy!  Have a cookie full of it!  Maybe these just “spice up” our mood a bit more even.

And chocolate.  Don’t we love a chocolate day or week?  Even without tasting a chocolate éclair or a fudgy brownie, we can feel chocolaty because of good things happenin’.

Sometimes we are what we season – or how.  Everyone has days of bitter herbs or non-sugared grapefruit.  But, since God appoints our seasons, it is up to Him to offer us the spices of life for our benefit.  And just as the seasons of the year, so do our seasons change; and He just offers sweets, spicy, bitter and more, all the while knowing that at some point we will enter a different season in life.  And we will sample life in a little different way.

Lord, thank You for the variety in life that we experience, whether we always want to or not.  Thank you that when we’re in a bitter-spice period, we know that sweet somethings will come along later.  And we will have grown as persons because You are there in all of LIFE’s varieties.

Topics:  Pray for patience as the seasons in life come and go.  And thank God for His constancy through them all. Pray for those going through life-and-death seasons this day.
