Acts 27:33-35 Thought/Prayer: He Still Gave Thanks. Topics: 2 at end.
On a ship that was in a huge storm: “And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, ‘This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing. Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.’ And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.” http://www.bible.com/
Even after having eaten nothing for fourteen days, when it came time to take food, Paul still remembered to thank God for what they had. Food must have been so wanted! But Paul did not forget to thank the Source of all our sustenance. May we be the same on this, our Thanksgiving Day. May we never put circumstances ahead of gratefulness and thanks-giving. May we be so truly grateful that we put God first, over and above our desire for food.
Lord, we do thank you, in whatever circumstances we are in. Thank you for every event and every opportunity to serve and thank you.
