§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Col. 2:6,7 Thought/Prayer:  The Rooted but Flexible Lodgepole.  Topics:  2 at end.

“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”

On a Colorado deck, I watch as the lodgepole pines do their dance, although rooted.  Although firmly planted, these trees can be 5–25 feet in diameter and 50-70 feet tall, rendering them quite slender and supple.  They are so flexible that they wave and bow to each other, bumping and tapping up toward their green crested tops in the breeze.

Their greenery begins way up the trunk, appearing almost as full-blown pines above, topside of their rough trunks.  This is where their cones form.  It’s almost as though they are stretching skyward to reach the heavens for their nutrients that eventually bring more sibling trees to their stand, via their cones.

I’m reminded that our spiritual nutrients come from above, but instead of having to reach and stretch to receive them, our faith-nutrition comes from a God who bent down to us instead.  He grows us daily as we seek Him.

It’s especially important for Christians to stay firmly rooted as we soak up God’s input in our lives.  If we really want to stand for causes He brings into our lives, we must have a rooted foundation so we can receive from Him.  But we must also be flexible to adapt as He send us out for him.  Pray that all in the cause for LIFE will be willing to spend the time to receive from our God whatever we need.

Topics:  Pray for time to be given every day for receiving spiritual nutrients for those who serve Him.
Pray for any pro-life effort today and especially for anyone who is serving in this way for the first time.
