§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Colossians 2:6,7   Thought/Prayer:  Former Thanksgiving Thoughts Revived.  Topics:  2 at end.

“As therefore you received Christ Jesus, the Lord, walk in him, rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.”  (WEB)  (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

The bulk of this devotion was published six years ago on Thanksgiving Day.  The words are enhanced a bit here, but the flavor of this writing still holds true:  Thanksgiving is greater than a food-laden table.

Thanksgiving Day is so much more than we might think at first, when considering grandma’s pies, perfectly turned turkey, and possibly home-mashed potatoes.  This scripture highlights other thanksgiving-worthy considerations:  the benefits of receiving Christ as Lord; walking in His ways; being constructed in him according to his blueprint for us; and becoming firmly grounded.

When our tummies are yelling, perhaps the aroma of all of Thanksgiving Day’s smorgasbord wins out, and we truly praise the foods and the cooks.  Nothing wrong with that!  Aunt Lucy should be commended for her kitchen skills.  That pumpkin pie was never better.  The traditional dressing recipe sure did come through again!

Our memories hold many a memory of different Thanksgivings over years.  But each time, we have to wait another year to again savor all these great aromas and culinary delights.

However, the wonderful intangibles in the scripture can be with us always, whatever the day or holiday!  These provide a spiritual feasting.  Pray that beyond the nutrients and flavors of this annual day of feasting, we will daily be thankful, especially when we learn of another baby and mother saved from the thanksgiving-less days of abortion.

Topics:  Pray for thankful hearts to shine out in praise for families saved from abortion.
Pray for God to provide food during the Thanksgiving holiday especially to those families in need over and beyond their decision to choose LIFE.
