§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Ecclesiastes 1:5 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  An Axis.  Topics:  2 at end.

“The sun also rises, and the sun goes down, and hastens to his place where he arose.” AKJV (Read this scripture and more at

We turn on an axis.  Well, actually, our Earth turns on its axis.  But we are on the Earth, so, indirectly we do too.  We’re all going around and around, unnoticed.  We don’t feel as though we are spinning.  We don’t worry about spinning too fast or too slow.  We just enjoy our place on Earth as we go to and from or back and forth, living our days.

But God notices.  (Of course, He made our Earth to do this.)  Each of the planets in our solar system spins on an axis.  It’s that imaginary line (imaginary to human beings because it’s impossible to find and look at that axis), that imaginary line going through the middle of our planet like a huge stick.  If we could actually see the Earth’s axis, would it not look like a gigantic Earth-size wooden pole or a stick that physically centers everything inside, and on, the Earth?  The rotation is centered in this axis.

This incredible plan brought about by God is worthy of our awe.  How is it that while the Earth spins we do not fall off of it?  One would think we would fall off when the rotation gets to a certain tipping point.  But, no.  God called in gravity.  And that takes care of anyone just plain ol’ falling off of the Earth.

Maybe we can compare the necessity for this axis to our lives.  Do we not need something upon which to center our lives?  Maybe we do not often feel that our lives “spin” out of control.  But maybe we, on the other hand, do live days of spinning around – chasing this and that and becoming “dizzied” by the rush.

What us that axis for us?  Jesus Christ.  He is the center of all creation, having been involved in its coming into existence (Colossians 1).  He is the Word.  The Word spoke creation into existence.  In Genesis 1: “God said”; “God said;”  “God said.”

So we know that Jesus Christ is in all creation; through Him all things hold together (Colossians 1).  He is in the center of our Earth.  He’s right there at the axis, making it turn in some Godly celestial way.  And so He is, at the center of our lives.

Lord, what a marvelous plan You had to bring the universe into existence.  What a marvelous plan You have to let us know how involved our Lord is in it all . . . and we can think it through and know that it is He Who turns our world physically; and He turns our lives.  We must tell this to people struggling with LIFE decisions.  They need to know that our Lord, the Lord of creation, is still turning our planet and will turn things to the good in their lives.  Help them to choose LIFE and then to acknowledge the great LIFE-giver, the creator of babies’ lives, the planner and creator of our planet, always turning . . . turning.

Topics:  Pray to let people in crisis know that our God is still turning our planet and will turn their lives for good if they will be ask Him to.
