§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Ephesians 1:15-23 (Pt. 4)  Thought/Prayer:  His Call To You”.  Topics:  2 at end.

“15 For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which prevails among you, and of your love for all God’s people, 16offer never ceasing thanks on your behalf while I make mention of you in my prayers. 17For I always beseech the God of our Lord Jesus Christ—the Father most glorious—to give you a spirit of wisdom and penetration through an intimate knowledge of Him, 18the eyes of your understanding being enlightened so that you may know what is the hope which His call to you inspires, what the wealth of the glory of His inheritance in God’s people, 19and what the transcendent greatness of His power in us believers as seen in the working of His infinite might 20when He displayed it in Christ by raising Him from the dead and seating Him at His own right hand in the heavenly realms, 21high above all other government and authority and power and dominion, and every title of sovereignty used either in this Age or in the Age to come. 22God has put all things under His feet, and has appointed Him universal and supreme Head of the Church, which is His Body, 23the completeness of Him who everywhere fills the universe with Himself.”  WEY (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

When we have eyes understanding enlightened, we can know “what is the hope which His call to you inspires, . . .”  God is calling to us.  Calling.  A call.  Think of a little boy on a little farm a couple of generations back, playing in the haystack, running to the pond for a swim, chasing a dog and being chased all over the farmyard, chickens flapping and running too.  Maybe this kid goes behind buildings in his play, and when Mama has supper ready in the table, she needs to get him in for his supper.

So she calls him for suppertime.  It’s a call to come home, to come in from the outside world on the farm; time to come in to warmth and food and family.  This calling of mothers is sweet and understood by kids.  Not that they always turn and run toward the house!  No, they may want to continue their playing and chasing . . . but Mother will call again, see him . . . gesturing with her arm.  Come on home now, Come in and eat with the rest of us.  And eventually sonny does turn and run for the kitchen and some noodles and chicken and maybe an apple pie.

A call is a personal thing.  We call out to each other in friendship, in need, and in emergency.  But whomever we call or for what reasons, it’s personal.

And God calls to us. It’s a personal thing.  In order to call to someone, calling out their name, their name must be known.  And God knows each and every of ours.  He’s motioning for us to come close, to come in to Him and His house of warmth and refreshment.  Another word might be, “beckons.”  God beckons to us to come to Him and His warmth and all the good food of spiritual blessing.

Lord, this is a lovely thing, this call of Yours to us Your children.  How loved and protected we can feel from this, this “call to you” (us) here in these words.  Lord, help us to know that You call every person there ever has been, and You are calling to those who are struggling with LIFE decisions.  Help us to see how we can direct them to hear and to answer Your call to them.

Topics:  Pray for attentiveness both to hear God’s call for yourself and His call to those in struggles for LIFE.
