§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Ephesians 5:8-10 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Blessings of Uprightness.  Topics:  2 at end.

“There was a time when you were nothing but darkness. Now, as Christians, you are Light itself. Live and act as sons of Light—for the effect of the Light is seen in every kind of goodness, uprightness and truth—and learn in your own experiences what is fully pleasing to the Lord.”  (WEY)  (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

When we walk uprightly through our lives, we as Christians are offered many blessings, as seen in these several scriptures, from different translations, dealing with being upright.

World English Bible:  Isaiah 57:2: “He enters into peace; they rest in their beds, each one who walks in his uprightness.”

Webster’s Bible Translation:  Psalm 84:11: “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”

American King James Version:  Galatians 2:14:  When the apostle Paul thought the disciple Peter was not being forthright in practicing his Christianity, he speaks to him of uprightness:  “But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, If you, being a Jew, live after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compel you the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?”

American King James Version:
Psalm 15:1,2: “Lord, who shall abide in your tabernacle? who shall dwell in your holy hill?
He that walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart.
He that walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart.”

In Isaiah, we have peace and can sleep peacefully.
In Psalm 84, we have the assurance that nothing good will be kept from us.
In Psalm 15 we are allowed to live in God’s tent and live on his holy hill – perhaps meaning we can live close to Him and His righteousness?

Isaiah 33:15,16 (American King James Version) tells us about defense, bread, and water: “He that walks righteously, and speaks uprightly; he that despises the gain of oppressions, that shakes his hands from holding of bribes, that stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil;
He shall dwell on high: his place of defense shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.”

When we do walk uprightly, we are walking according to God’s desire for us in the world.  Not only do we accomplish God’s plans for us in His truth . . . we receive multiple blessings from Him.  In pro-LIFE work, we sometimes must work hard to maintain this upright position.  Just keeping out bodies “upright,” physically, means we have to use our muscles to maintain our position.  As we serve in pro-LIFE areas, it is sometimes difficult to want to do this; we’d rather slack off and slouch around because it seems easier than using all those muscles to be straight and tall.

But the rewards of straight-and-tall are immense; the results are also.  We must maintain uprightness.  It’s fundamental.

Topics:  Pray for God to help you to remain firmly committed to uprightness as you serve in LIFE areas and all others.
