§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Ephesians 6:11   Thought/Prayer:  A Force.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”  WEB (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

When Memorial Day or the 4th of July comes around, we of course think a lot of thoughts about our military, the armed forces.  Maybe we say the term “armed forces” automatically because the words seem to pair up so well.  But maybe there is something that can relate to scripture here.  More pointedly, maybe we can take a look at the description of spiritual battle in Ephesians.

Armed forces.  It’s just what the term conveys:  the military is an “armed” force.  It’s what is discussed in Ephesians 6.  It’s something that is armed (carrying military weapons); and it is a force.

What does a force do?  It provides . . . yes, a force, a pushing against something, a power or thrust forward.  We use force in many ways, from pushing against a door to close it against the wind to the full equipping of a national army to “push” against an enemy.  When weapons are added, we have created an armed force.  We are glad to have them.

Spiritually speaking, Ephesians 6 describes very well the putting-on of the weapons of God.  We face a formidable enemy, the most formidable in all of creation:  the forces of evil headed up by that old enemy Satan.  If we are to go against him forcefully, we must armor up and get clothed with all of the pieces of armor described in Ephesians 6, including a helmet (salvation), shield (faith) and several others.

Lord, help us to want to don all of the armor You provide for us to war, with force, against our enemy, the darkness of Satan and his minions.  We want to be forceful for you, to be armed according to Your battle strategies, to be strong in our pushes against evil.  Help us, Lord, to get ready.  Help us to utilize all of Your armor in our strong stand for LIFE against the enemy who always wants to destroy it.

Topics:  Pray for God’s armor to be best used in your life as you serve those in LIFE crisis situations.
