§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Ephesians 6:13 (Pt. 2),  Thought/Prayer:  Standing Spiritually.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Why take to you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  (AKJV)  Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

We think of an army, a standing army or otherwise, such as a militia ready on-call, as being made up of many different types of individuals.  We may think of an army as marching in tight rhythmic formation with stomping of polished boots.  And yes, this is part of army protocol.  Marching in formation can possibly give a sense of power over an enemy.

In the spiritual sense, Christians are in God’s army to fight against the forces of evil in our universe.  We might imagine a group of Christ-followers marching together, such as in the song, “Marching to Zion,” in public domain.  Zion would be thought of as Jerusalem in this song.  The refrain:

We’re marching to Zion,
Beautiful, beautiful Zion;
We’re marching upward to Zion,
The beautiful city of God.

Yes, we can picture a march to Zion, as we all join in step as an army.

But as we picture this, a thought may enter . . . what about those folks who cannot “march”?  What about those who must stabilize their bodies with walkers to prevent falls?  What about those in wheelchairs?

Well, this is what is beautiful about God’s spiritual army:  Physical condition is not a real consideration for participation.  Indeed, those in wheelchairs or who are bedfast may still march in the army of the Lord.  Even those with fast-fading memory or some confusion about their everyday life may be a field commander in the army of the Lord.  This is, in part, because of prayer.  No one needs to physically be standing up to be a prayer warrior.  In fact . . . prayer is often sent up from folks’ kneeling knees.

No, the spiritual army of God goes powerfully on, no matter how the soldiers are on a “fitness test.”  The only “test” is that of faith . . . faith in the Lord Jesus.  Faith is the qualifier for all positions in God’s army.  There is a children’s song,  copyright unknown, that goes like this:

I may never march in the infantry
Ride in the cavalry
Shoot the artillery
I may never fly o’er the enemy
But I’m in the Lord’s army (Yes, sir!)

I’m in the Lord’s army (Yes, sir!)
I’m in the Lord’s army (Yes, sir!)

How appropriate.  That’s what it’s all about.  Lord, let us stand (or sit) honorably in Your army, and bless our stand, whether on our feet or from a wheelchair. for created LIFE.

Topics:  Pray for the Lord to help us to stand for you, no matter our physical condition.
