Ezekiel 43:2   Thought/Prayer:  The Bible’s Beautiful Waters, God’s Voice.  Topics:  2 at end.

“And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east; and his voice was like the voice of many waters; and the earth was lit up with his glory.”  (DBT)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

The measured waters of the world in God’s palm; Jesus’ Living water; a drink of water in a vessel; a jug of water stolen; a drink for a thirsty lad; creation’s waters; the deep’s fountains; the cleansing flood.  All of these accounts of water (see previous Pivot posts) magnify the importance of water in the Bible and in our lives.  But let us now summarize with God’s voice, as in the words above.  “. . . and his voice was like the voice of many waters; and the earth was lit up with his glory.”

Lord, we thank You for water
We thank you for how you measured it; a drink of it; the fountains coming up from the earth; and more.

The accounts you have given us are enjoyable, thought-provoking.  Thank You for sharing them.

The best water from You?  Jesus Christ’s living water.

But Lord, can it be best said in the verse above?  Your voice is like the sound of many waters.  Maybe like the crashing, deafening roar of a big-river waterfall of great height.  Maybe like all the waterfalls of Earth sounding together.  Maybe like waters of the universe, wherever you placed them, and we might find, some day.

Lord, does your big voice contain in it all of the waters we’ve considered here, above?  Is it measured, a fountain, a quiet drink?  Is it layered in its sounds, each on a different wave length, as we know them?  Billions of wave lengths?

All we know, Lord, is that Your voice was like the sound of not a few waters.  Thank you for its deafening sound . . . . surely it is deafening should we actually hear it.  But we also know, Lord, that if You speak to us with this big voice, we would understand.  As big as it may be and as loud, we still would understand.

Help us, Lord, to understand Your voice, be it as many waters or as a voice still and small (I Kings 19:12).  We pray that the still small voice may be heard in the hearts of those in LIFE anguish.  Or, Lord, roar it out to be noticed.  And we just thank You for it in all its aspects and intentions.

Topics:  Praise God for His voice, no matter how He speaks it.
