§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Genesis 1:1-2   Thought/Prayer:  Some Unkown Spark.  Topics:  2 at end.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” KJV  (Read this scripture and more at

I’ve seen the term “some unknown spark” to refer to such an incident as the cause of a fire or to the sparking of someone’s creative imagination.  Something happened without a known cause.  Something is unexplainable.  As far as the universe is concerned, the seemingly unknowable has a very knowable “Spark”:  our God.  As far as our human lives are concerned, there is a very knowable Spark:  our God.

When considering LIFE issues, again, there is God.  His Word, the first spark of life before Adam and Eve were created, created the cosmos.  His spark of life gave us Jesus’ miraculous birth, by a virgin.  He sparks every created child using the method he gave human kind for procreation.

Science ends here.  Yes, yes.  We can formulate all the theories of how elements came together to form the first cell, or whatever, and these are important to know.  We can learn all of the intricacies of what is in the universe – every element, black matter and ferocious exploding gases.  But no one can pinpoint God’s very first spark to begin ANY life on Earth, as to why anyTHING was here to begin with.  It is not to be.  Only He knows it.  It’s in the Beginning, God.

We see it in the most minute bug taking up residence on another minute bug in nature – or in the complex pattern on the shell of a box turtle.  But nowhere is the spark most marvelous than in the creation of individual new humans.  A newborn’s appearance on this planet yells out huge tomes of awe to us.  We know how this little person got here, but we don’t understand really how:  because all life goes back to the first Spark, Who is the Word, Who is the Spirit hovering over the waters, Who is the Father.

Lord, help us to be so in awe of you, the SPARK-not-unknown, that we marvel over LIFE so much that we work to protect it from conception to death in Your plans.  Help this awe to carry us farther than we had considered down the road to a stance for life.

Topics:  Pray for conviction of the mighty awe of God’s created life, thus spurring us to more action.
