§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Genesis 7:11,12   Thought/Prayer:  The Bible’s Beautiful Waters, The Flood.  Topics: 2 at end.

“In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep were burst open, and the sky’s windows were opened. The rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.  ”  (WEB)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

Water was used to clean the Earth of wickedness and terribly unholy living.  Every thing and every person died except for Noah and his three sons and their wives.  Even the mountains were covered.  Yes, much water for getting rid of evil doings.

This water was all for cleansing.  The other water that cleanses is that of Jesus Christ.  Ephesians 5:26 tells us, in a passage (actually about husband and wives), “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish” (AKJV).  This takes us up to the church of Jesus Christ having not even a spot, because of Christ’s purifying atonement on the cross.

Of course, then, God in his loving mercy gave Noah a sign, that of the rainbow, as a promise that He would never again destroy all life on Earth by a flood.  He chose something so beautiful . . . a rainbow . . . for us to enjoy in our minds’ visions.  In Revelation 4:3, there is even a rainbow, like an emerald, around the throne of God.

Sometimes there are families “deluged” by life’s problems and circumstances, unwanted circumstances.  Sometimes they are just deluged in caring . . . because someone cares for someone else so much, trying to figure out how to help them seems overwhelming.  When the circumstances or problems involve LIFE decisions of death or life, it can be particularly wrenching: sometimes outcomes are irreversible.

The aborting of a preborn child is irreversible, perhaps even one predicted to have serious anomalies.  The euthanizing of an elder is irreversible.  But God’s rainbow after the flood is not irreversible.  It stands forever in the heavens.  It is a reminder that the floodwaters did not hang around.  They dried up.  Our floods of challenges also dry up as we trust the Lord to deal with them.

So the floodwater of cleansing all over the Earth stands for the beauty of a rainbow promise from God.  And God’s people, having been cleansed by The Lord Jesus, stand for all that the rainbow promises.  Lord, thank You.  Help us to appreciate the rainbows you send us in the sky.

Topics:  Praise God for rainbows and their promise, and pray to be able to share with others all about it.
