§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Genesis 8:22 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  His Celestial Calendar.  Topics:  2 at end.

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”  (AKJV)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

Well, at one time, it was generally thought that the summer and winter equinoxes were on the 21st of the months September and March.  But for the years 2017 – 2020, they occur on the 22nd and 23rd of the months, according to general online-site information.  But would we not think that equal day and equal night would always occur on the same date each year?  The precision in the months of the coming of each equinox seems slight off perhaps?  Not at all, of course.

This is no scientific treatise; but it is known that our Earth and its sun and other factors play into the exact date and time of each year’s two equinoxes, such as the sun’s light showing up on the horizon before the full sun is visible.  Different latitudes have a few minutes’ difference, as the sun takes longer to reach the very north and very south of our planet.

And, of course, it doesn’t matter to us humans.  God takes care of night/day; summer/winter, and all.  Each equinox is exactly at the time He has orchestrated with His celestial calendar.  We just enjoy.  At the equator, the sun is directly overhead at noon on these two equinoxes.  That, we know.  And it happens.  Two times each earthly year.

Why think of all of this?  Well, because God’s precision is dear to us and important to us.  What if the equinox suddenly didn’t happen?  It would be unnerving.  How would we keep track of the seasons?  How would we know when to expect longer nights or longer days when planning outdoor activities?  Maybe it is a bit comforting to know that we have this point in time each year to appreciate the seasons and their impact.  Maybe we think of bringing a child into the world in our favorite month.  If there were no equinox, we wouldn’t know what month that would be because days and nights would be all off-center, we might say.

God, we know that You planned the natural world with as much precision as the creation of a new child in the world.  The precisions present in a pregnancy is way beyond us!  And, Lord, maybe, just maybe, when a mother finds she is pregnant, she will learn that this little one is due in her favorite season.  Help her, then, to consider this in her thoughts of whether to bring her baby to birth, if the pregnancy is inconvenient.

Topics:  Pray for those who are just now finding out that an unplanned child is on the way, to consider all types of aspects of LIFE in thinking about this . . . even to the month in which the baby will be born!
