§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Genesis 8:22   Thought/Prayer:  Beauty In Change.  Topics:  2 at end.

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

The beauty of change.  We usually like it, especially in nature.  We may live on the great plains.  A trip to a coast is a beautiful and graceful change.  We may live on the coast; a trip to the great plains can be freeing and roomy.  We may live in the mountains.  A trip to a farm in middle America can enrich our appreciation of homesteads and crops.

God has built change into our lives.  We see it fully in nature, with the seasons and the variety of weather—rainstorms, tornados, snow or hail.  The Bible tells us that the seasons come and go and that they always will.  ***scripture***  But, do we always see change as a beautiful thing in our lives?  Not really.

In fact, we may resist change in the way that we wish we could resist a tornado on the way:  vehemently.  We don’t want to move to a new job or city; we don’t want to go through the angst of divorce. We don’t want to live on our own after 40 years of marriage.  But we may need to.

But consider that the God who made all the changes in outdoor nature understands the resistance to change built into human nature. Consider that the God of the universe underwent the greatest change possible by leaving His home in Heaven and coming to Earth as a limited person, unable to enjoy the splendor of the Heavenly home he left, at least for a time.  Consider that the Lord of Heaven would have preferred a change in the plan as we see in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Yes, God understands our resistance to change and also the necessity of enduring change.  When the change involves the creation of ending of human life, there may be huge resistance on our part as humans.  Lord, we know we are to help those going through this resistance including LIFE issues, beginning and end.  Help us to get through our own changes and be better equipped to help others with theirs.

Topics:  Pray for the ability to accept change and to be willing to help others to get through some of theirs.  Help us to help them see that it can be beautiful over time.
