§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Heb. 10:22 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  A Heart Set Right.  Topics:  2 at end.

“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.” KJV http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

What did I really mean when I said in my prayer, “Let my heart be set right, Lord.”?  Of course it can mean that I want a heart-set that is in a good attitude toward God and His ability to answer my prayers according to His best purposes.  But is there another aspect to this desire to have a heart set right toward Him?

Possibly.  As I think back to when I said this to God in my prayer, there could have been the aspect of wanting to want what God wants through the way in which I picture the need in a person or situation and the expected answer of hope from Him.  Could there have been somewhat of a holding-back from Him, an attitude that for some reason I sensed in myself and that caused me to ask for a heart set right.  Could there have been some selfishness or cloudiness or purpose inside my prayer?

There may have been.  Maybe there was something about my thoughts toward the person or situation that was not pleasing to my Lord.  Lord, I confess that to you now!  Please forgive me and get rid of that for me.  Please guide the set of my mind and heart to you and don’t let me get away with trying to get by with something that is displeasing to You.  If there is ever any selfishness or greed or avarice or any other displeasing aspect to my prayers—- tell me!

I know you will, Lord, because it’s just been proven to me:  I needed to ask you to set my heart right.  Please help all of us Christians learn to pray with purity of intent and purposes.  Help us to know how to pray this way with the big issues of LIFE, both for young and old.  May we pray with hearts set right toward all who struggle with issues for young and old.

Topics:  Pray for willingness to let God set our hearts right in prayer.
