§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Hebrews 10:24, 25 (Pt. 2)Thought/Prayer: Why Pray for Pastors, All Positions?(2)Topics: 2 at end.

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” ESV (Read this scripture and more at

What better way to develop a pro-life consensus in churches than to pray for pastors in all positions?  It is true that we often think of the senior pastor (sometimes called lead pastor and other titles) when we think of praying for pastors in a church.  Lead pastors do have great responsibility to guide their flocks into a pro-life mindset.  Often the direct involvement comes from their pulpits.

But when we pray for pastors in all positions about LIFE attitudes, we broaden the base of activity and influence in any church.  Let’s just consider that the church can be permeated, permeated for LIFE.  Because we pray not only for pastors in more visible positions, such as lead pastorships, but for all pastors in a given congregation, we can cover more bases, to make a baseball analogy.  (And, judging from myriad little-league ballgames we attend, covering bases is a huge aspect in a game!  Just let one of those little guys or gals gaze and noodle around entertaining themselves at their base, out of boredom . . . well, whoosh!  The foe scores again!)

So, consider the pastoral positions in churches.  Small churches may only have two or three employees; the pastor, a secretary and maybe a youth pastor.  Larger churches often focus on staff more than facility and may have pastors for twenty areas of ministry:  missions, benevolence, adult classes, youth, children, and on and on.  But no matter the number of positions, praying for all of these ministering people can help shape policy in the LIFE arena.

Lord, help us to be faithful to pray to permeate our churches’ pastors with prayers for LIFE.  We ask YOU to permeate for LIFE.

Topics:  Pray for all pastors in any church you think of, to have a mindset toward LIFE.
