§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Hebrews 10:24, 25 (Pt. 4)  Thought/Prayer:  Keeping ‘Em Stirred Up.  Topics:  2 at end.

Hebrews 10:24, 25 (Pt. 4)  “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” ESV (Read this scripture and more at

How interesting that this scripture tells us to, paraphrased, “stir things up.”  Really.  Here we thought a person who keeps things stirred up is a bit of a troublemaker, always coming up with something new to keep the rest of us on edge.  We hear the comment, “Oh, yeah – she’s always keeping things stirred up around here.  Yep.  She sure does.”  And we shake our heads.

But we as Christians are supposed to keep one another stirred up.  Sounds like a permission to go around getting in everyone’s business.

Well, it is.  Well, sort of.

When we consider it, perhaps it does make some sense that we would be in others’ business in the world of Christians.  But we can see, obviously, that this is not license to be a nosy busy-body; it is to be a helper!  Getting into someone’s business here can here mean to find out:  what’s going on, goals and objectives, how we can help, etc.  Of course, the bottom line is, hopefully, that it’s the Lord business into which we push our noses.  And our hands.  And our feet.  And our willing hearts.

When we do help someone, there can be an aspect of keeping things stirred up – but in the vein of new ideas, new approaches to the ministry, new groups to assist, for example.  And perhaps we must admit that some folks in leadership, no matter how pure their hearts and intents, do need a little pushing at times to stay on task and keep it all working.  We can’t have our leaders “stir crazy” for lack of activity!

Lord, as we go about the particular ministry of pro-life, help us to know our role in keeping things stirred up, in keeping people stirred up in their service to you.  Help us to be kind about this, to be considerate, to be only helpful and never a bully.  Help us to keep each other “stirred” according to Your plans and desired outcomes.

Topics:  Pray for our role in keeping people stirred up according to God’s desires.
