§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Hebrews 10:24, 25 (Pt. 5)  Thought/Prayer:  Gentle Here!  No Beating.  Topics:  2 at end.

Hebrews 10:24, 25 (Pt. 5)  “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” ESV (Read this scripture and more at

If we’re going to be doing some stirring, stirring up fellow Christians and fellow workers in the anti-abortion cause, how can we do it gently?  No one with whom we work or pray—serve with—wants to be beaten-up, battered for God.  Perhaps it’s a matter of gently prodding or a gentle blending of skills, those ingredients for service using the gifts from the Lord we’ve been given.

Prayer is one gentle way to fold in the positive.  Another is offerings – not offerings of money but those of helps.  Assists might fall into this category just as in a soccer game an assist may help someone else score. Whom can we think of right now who needs an assist, maybe a phone call or two to be made or a stop to pick up brochures for a pro-life get-together?  Whom can we call to pray for that pro-lifer preparing to pray at an abortion mill for the first time?

Do we ever need to “beat” the batter of service?  There may be situations in which a really strong approach is the most appropriate of any.  But before we beat any batter really intently, we must make certain that God’s hand controls the wooden spoon or the electric mixer.  He is the one responsible for those times of intense stirring.

Lord, as we consider how we can individually keep both ourselves and our brethren or our co-workers from settling into lazy comfort, help us to see how to “stir up one another to love and good works” as you would want.  Then the final product will advance LIFE as you would want.

Topics:  Pray for wisdom in our relationships of working with each other for LIFE.
