§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

I Corinthians 10:1-4;  Psalm 61 (Pt. 2) Thought/Prayer:  Jesus Was THERE. Topics:  2 at end.

Hear My Cry; Listen to My Prayer
Hear my cry, God. Listen to my prayer.
From the end of the earth, I will call to you, when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For you have been a refuge for me, a strong tower from the enemy
I will dwell in your tent forever. I will take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Selah.
For you, God, have heard my vows. You have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
You will prolong the king’s life; his years shall be for generations.
He shall be enthroned in God’s presence forever. Appoint your loving kindness and truth, that they may preserve him.
So I will sing praise to your name forever, that I may fulfill my vows daily. For the Chief Musician. To Jeduthan. A Psalm by David.” (WEB)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com

I Corinthians 10:1-4
“Warnings from Israel’s Past
Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and all ate the same spiritual food; and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.”  (WEB)  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com

When the psalmist was overwhelmed, he asks to be led to Jesus Christ.  Of course, Jesus Christ had not made His appearance on Earth when Psalm 61 was penned by the great psalmist, David.  But Jesus Christ was certainly in existence, and the Old Testament has the intent of pointing mankind to Jesus Christ, thousands of years before His birth.  We see here, also, in I Corinthians, that when the Israelites left Egypt and eventually came to the Promised Land, Jesus Christ was there as The Rock.

This is comforting to readers, such as you and I.  Jesus was there as a solid foundation when the Israelites needed Him.  Over 400 years later, when he is down and out about life, the psalmist David asks to be led to the Him, the Rock.  We today are reminded about the strength of rock when we see, or think of, frigid vegetation-barren mountaintops – and perhaps of His strength.

Part of the point here, may be that Jesus Christ is the strength of solid rock.  He is the solid Rock.  And no matter when we live, or have lived, He is, or was, there.  This, over time, can comfort us when we are in dire straits or are simply overwhelmed, as was the psalmist.

When we experience such times of needing Christ the Rock, we may be able to identify with folks going through very difficult days, including those struggling with LIFE situations.  Perhaps it should be our prayer that we will know enough about The Rock Jesus Christ to be able to share about Him and His strength – and also His interest in all humans, as evidenced by His following the Israelites and meeting their needs.

Lord, help us to know You.  Help us to be able to explain You! to others (at least as much as we are able to, as we have known You through our fellowship with you).

Topics:  Pray to be close to the Lord, close enough to let others know how of His strength and ongoing eternal presence, even unto today and tomorrow.
