§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

I Corinthians 12:28   Busses, Corners, and Planners.  Topics:  2 at end.

“And some, indeed, did God set in the assembly, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, afterwards powers, afterwards gifts of healings, helpings, governings, divers kinds of tongues; . . .” YLT (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)
A big yellow bus, a school bus of course, turned a corner ahead of me.  It was long, but it made it around the corner just fine.  But what if it had been too long for the corner?  What if it had an unplanned length that somehow got accidentally manufactured?  When turning, its back end would whack whatever was on a corner.  Kids would not get to school . . . their bus would have to go on only straight roads!  Cities would only be able to build schools on straightaways.

But, fortunately, there are people who know all about the need for things to “fit,” from school busses to the kitchen stove you set in its open space in a counter.  All copy paper has to fit in computers and copiers.  Rulers and yardsticks and laser measures seem to “rule.”  The people who know about these things keep up with weights and measures and perimeters and parameters.  Glad they do!

In God’s spiritual effect on life, there are those gifted with governance or administration.  There is a real place for these folks, although there may not be as many of them as “service” folks or “teaching.”  It would seem that most churches do not need as many administrators as they do teachers.  And the office of city planning in a community may not take up nearly as much space as the health department or education.

Back to the bus.  There are busses with “articulated” aspects, meaning that there are two parts, and those parts can work independently of each other when going around corners.  They bend in the middle.  They have a joint that helps swing the back part around, and these busses can carry twice as many riders a route.  So, city busses do not have to be too long to work.  They just bend.

If we didn’t have planners for many things in life, things would not “fit.”  And so we need administrators in the Christian walk – those who have God-imbued skills to see what needs to be done and getting it done.  Pro-LIFE groups are the same.  If there is no one with forward-looking vision to see how to make things work and fit together, the work gets stalled.  Not good.

Lord, thank You for those who have the gift of administration/governance.  Please help pro-LIFE groups do well in this so that plans will be well-made and well carried out.

Topics:  Pray for God’s wisdom to pervade pro-LIFE groups when making their plans for action.
