I Corinthians 13:1-13 (Pt. 4) Thought/Prayer: Praying Over You in the Womb. Topics: 2 at end.

“If I can speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but am destitute of Love, I have but become a loud-sounding trumpet or a clanging cymbal. If I possess the gift of prophecy and am versed in all mysteries and all knowledge, and have such absolute faith that I can remove mountains, but am destitute of Love, I am nothing. And if I distribute all my possessions to the poor, and give up my body to be burned, but am destitute of Love, it profits me nothing.
Love is patient and kind. Love knows neither envy nor jealousy. Love is not forward and self-assertive, nor boastful and conceited. She does not behave unbecomingly, nor seek to aggrandize herself, nor blaze out in passionate anger, nor brood over wrongs. She finds no pleasure in injustice done to others, but joyfully sides with the truth. She knows how to be silent. She is full of trust, full of hope, full of patient endurance.
Love never fails. But if there are prophecies, they will be done away with; if there are languages, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be brought to an end. For our knowledge is imperfect, and so is our prophesying; but when the perfect state of things is come, all that is imperfect will be brought to an end. When I was a child, I talked like a child, felt like a child, reasoned like a child: when I became a man, I put from me childish ways. For the present we see things as if in a mirror, and are puzzled; but then we shall see them face to face. For the present the knowledge I gain is imperfect; but then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And so there remain Faith, Hope, Love—these three; and of these the greatest is Love.”  (WEY)  Read this scripture and more at

Verse 8a:  “Love never fails. . . .”

Little baby in mother’s womb, we claim this for you.  We claim the love of your Creator God over you, knowing it will never fail.  It is with you in the womb you inhabit within your mother.  It is with you as you exit (sometimes with difficulty) the womb and are ushered into life on planet Earth.  It is with you as you nurse; sleep; learn to eat solid; food; walk; talk; and reason beyond childhood.  Yes, God’s love never fails and is always there for you.

Our prayer for you is that you will know this love personally, very personally.  May your life’s circumstances point you to Him.  May your life’s events point you to Him.

He is always calling to you.  Whatever the problems and challenges you will face in life, He is calling and calling to bring you to Himself so that He may help you.  He is calling to you with His unfailing love.

Many in life may teach you of faith.  Many may model the audacity of being hopeful.  But it is love that remains the greatest; and God’s is the greatest of all.  Why else would He have created you, little one in the womb?

You will love someday.  Right now you are all about God’s development of your physical body and its non-physical wonders such as memory, feelings, and artistic bents.  But after you exit this (also-a- wonder) 9-months home of your heartbeat, you will eventually get beyond the focus of your developing self and on to the tasks of developing your life’s outlook and wonders such as friendship; loyalty; and above all, your own version of love for those to whom you give it.

What we pray the most, however, is that your parents will love you.  We pray that they will love you the most to make sure you are safely born.  This is the greatest gift of love you can receive:  LIFE.

Topics:  Pray for a baby in the womb, of someone you know – that this little person will be loved enough to be birthed, and then forever after, by parents and other family.
