§ What is Pro-Life Unity?
To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

I Peter 2:2 Thought/Prayer: The Sometimes Surprise of Growth. Topics: 2 at end.
Do you think you are not growing, when you really are? When spring comes, there are trees that look totally stick-like one day, and the next day they are putting out green, and a day or two later they may push out many blossoms. Voila! These trees could do for a bride’s wedding bouquet.
To the untrained eye, like many of us have when it comes to plant matters, it seems a huge surprise, that all of a sudden the tree looking dead suddenly resembles an upside down broom or an arced fan made from broomcorn and colored green. Some trees are shaped so as to seem to wear a crown of green.
But, we know that this is not at all surprising, really. This tree has been secretly growing all along. Even though it looks a dry and brittle brown, down deep in the earth and up through all its roots and branches, there is still life. “Life” may be resting a bit in preparation for the big push-out of blossoms red, pink, white or otherwise, but we who enjoy the trees’ beauty cannot see it. But the life-plan for the tree is going on at all times.
In our own lives we may feel that we are sterile and like sticks walking about. We seem never to be able to green up or blossom. It seems as though the energy of spring disappeared with the some harshness of winter.
But – if we consider a parallel in nature, we might say that if we are in the Word and in prayer, there is growth going on even though we can’t see it. Trees in some manner receive enough of some sustainer from surroundings to make it through the harsh times and then produce beautiful blossoms, or fruit, come spring.
God rewards faithfulness. “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master” (Matthew 25:23). (ESV Scripture quotations are from the Holy Bible, English Standard Version, copyright © 2001 by Crossway Bibles, a division of Good News Publishers. Used by permission. All rights reserved.) Even though we don’t know we’re receiving growth substances, by faithfully holding on even through a winter-like existence, the growth will come.
Lord, help us to hold on. Help us to know that if we seek you, and sometimes even when we don’t, you will bring greening growth – You may just surprise us with it! Yes, just help us to hold on, in pro-life work, in all our service which you work through us.
Topics: Pray for patience and tenacity when going through longsuffering or shallowness.
