§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

I Peter 5:10, 11 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  To the Ages!  Topics:  2 at end.

“And the God of all grace, who did call you to His age-during glory in Christ Jesus, having suffered a little, Himself make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle [you]; to Him [is] the glory, and the power—to the ages and the ages! Amen.”  Young’s Literal Translation (YLT) http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com).

I like this older translation for this scripture.  Because God has established, strengthened and settled us, we will want to give Him the glory.  Here it’s worded, glory (and power) to the ages and the ages!  That’s what I like about this translation – so poetically put, about our giving Him glory age upon age.  It’s written as though we may be standing tall with an arm outstretched, and yelling to him and the universe: “Onward, Onward to the Ages!”

It’s exciting to think that in this passage, right after discussing our perfection (in Him alone, of course, not on our own), establishing, strengthening and settling, there is this huge resounding declaration: ages! ages!  Perhaps it points out to us that the God who tenderly cares about strengthening and settling us is also the God who will reign in power and glory for all ongoing, upcoming ages!  We see Him here as caring so much for us – and then His eternal Presence is exalted, huge and worthy.

Lord, help us to remember Your awesome power and glory as we, at the same time, thank you for your intimate care of us.  Help us to thank AND praise.  Thank you especially that your tender, loving care extends into the womb.

Topics:  Pray that we may give God His due and that we think of Him and praise Him often during our daily walk.
