§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

I Samuel 7:10-12 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Milestones/The Cornerstone.  Topics:  2 at end.

“And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.  And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Bethcar.  Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.” Scripture quotations marked “NASB” are taken from the New American Standard Bible®, Copyright © The Lockman Foundation 1960, 1962, 1963, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977

If we contemplate life, and our own lives, at our birthday times, sometimes setting rocks of milestones for our lives, how does this apply around Christmas?  We know that when we receive Jesus as Savior and Lord, the largest rock of our lives has been set as a marker:  In fact, we could say that our salvation is a boulder-marker, a boulder of granite or steely flint.  It towers above all other milestones and is our greatest Ebenezer stone, indicating that the Lord has helped us, helped us in the greatest way ever possible.

In fact, the Lord as Ebenezer, is the greatest milestone along the highway of the human race.  God set Jesus Christ the Messiah as not only a milestone, but the Cornerstone of all humanity, of all time.  After a lame man was healed, Peter fervently says, “. . . be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazaraean, whom *ye* have crucified, whom God has raised from among [the] dead, by *him* this [man] stands here before you sound in body.  *He* is the stone which has been set at nought by you the builders, which is become the corner stone. And salvation is in none other, for neither is there another name under heaven which is given among men by which we must be saved.  DARBY http://www.bible.com  (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

We celebrate the coming of the Cornerstone, at Christmas.  The coming of the Christmas child makes the way for Christ to become our Savior and Cornerstone.  We always glance back to appreciate the Rock that is Jesus.  We always look forward to setting other milestones as we seek His will and see His workings in our lives, milestones of remembrance from the past and future milestones of hope.  Those we just have to wait a bit to see!

Lord, help us to speak of our milestones, to others, when appropriate.  If there is someone to whom we are led, and it would help them choose LIFE over abortion or euthanasia, then let us speak of our milestones with You.  And prepare their hearts to listen.

Topics:  Pray to be able to share with grace and effectiveness the milestones of grace and power in our lives.
