§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

I Timothy 2:1, 2 (Pt. 4)  Thought/Prayer:  Pray =.  Don’t Pray =.  Topics:  2 at end.

“I desire therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men: For kings, and for all that are in high station: that we may lead a quiet and a peaceable life in all piety and chastity.”  DRB (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

There is what may be considered an interesting correlation here in this second “listing” in this scripture.  Yes, we are to pray for those in authority.  And, in this passage, here is why:  That we may lead a quiet and peaceable life with godly devotion (piety) and with pure intentions (chastity, at least in one definition of it).  So if we don’t pray for our governing folks, we may not lead a quiet and peaceable life?  Well, that’s the thread of thought here.  Kind of “lays it on us,” doesn’t it?  Prayer = Quiet and peace.  No prayer? = Well, we don’t know what might just happen.

Maybe it seems a far reach from kings down to “us.”  Kings (and other many types of leaders) often seem so far above us in status that we think we have no effect on them . . . or that they really affect our lives.  Well, we see here that there is a definite correlation.  So what will we do about it?  We’re really not off the hook after reading this, now are we?  Maybe we’d better get down to the reality of what we need to do here.

The reality is: Pray for our leaders.  The reality is:  Then we will reap good results for living.  As we do this, surely there will be benefits reaped for the honoring of Your created LIFE on Earth.

Lord, we pray that we will heed this correlation set forth here in Your words.  Please convict us to pray for those who lead us, in many ways and at many levels.

Topics:  Pray for our leaders, to the top of the leadership chain and for all the links up to there.
