II Corinthians 5:17 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  A New State.  Topics:  2 at end

“So that if any one is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old state of things has passed away; a new state of things has come into existence.” WNT (Read this scripture and more at

In the translation of the Weymouth New Testament, the wording here is a bit different from what might be considered the usual.  We see the words, “a new state of things has come into existence.”  This is exactly and accurately said.  When we do accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord, there is a “new state of things.”  When we have the Lord of the Universe dwelling with us, how can we help but have an altered outlook on the world and on life, on our lives?  Because of His better vision, we now have better vision.  Because of His better viewpoint, we have a better viewpoint.  How does this happen?

This happens because He dwells within us.  At the very most central core of our being, is He.  We invite Him into our hearts, our lives, (II Timothy 1:14) and He takes up residence in the form of the Holy Spirit.  Because that Spirit has not been there in totality, before, we now gain added insight through vision (His) and an advantaged viewpoint (His).  This is part of becoming the new creature.

It’s a beautiful thing.  Often, just in ordinary life, we celebrate the new.  But this is the most beautiful new possible.  It is total and complete.  It is the best new of the best.  Thank you Lord.

So, as we live out our days and apply ourselves to the honoring of God-created life, we rejoice.  And in our rejoicing, others may see the reason:  Our state of being is new; Christ is within.  We must tell them, also, as we do our life-saving work in honor of God.  Lord, help us tell them.

Topics:  Pray for a thankful heart for all of the “newness” we experience when Christ becomes our Savior.
