§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

II Timothy 2:14 (Pt. 3)  Thought/Prayer:  Mere Words or Pondering?  Topics:  2 at end.

“Faithful is the saying: “If we died with Him, we shall also live with Him; ‘If we patiently endure pain, we shall also share His Kingship; ‘If we disown Him, He will also disown us; ‘And even if *our* faith fails, He remains true—He cannot prove false to Himself.’
The Lord’s Approved Workman
Bring all this to men’s remembrances, solemnly charging them in the presence of God not to waste time in wrangling about mere words, a course which is altogether unprofitable and tends only to the ruin of the hearers.” WNT (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

What is to be brought to remembrance here?  Well, some weighty words regarding dying and living in Christ, pain, Kingship, and consequences of disowning Christ.  And also there is the true nature of God.  He must remain true.

But then comes the admonition about quarreling, wrangling over words.  Interesting that this oh-so-human quality of arguing and picking something to pieces comes right after these weighty subjects.  But that’s the way our God is:  He gives us weighty ponderances to think about; he also speaks to our day-to-day struggles and weaknesses.  We should be thankful that He does this in this manner; otherwise everything He says might be scolding.  This scolding comes through Paul, of course.  But God-said it is.

Thank you, Lord, for reminding us to think of and speak of the primary subjects of this world, even the universe.  Help us to ask You for understanding about important matters, especially when it comes to the LIFE issues and decisions of many.  Lord, we want to also understand that we are not to quarrel over minute things such as mere words, as we see here.  We are to converse about words, certainly; but let us keep in mind that there are great things to ponder: let us not get caught up in unnecessary specifics about relatively unimportant things.

Topics:  Pray to consider the weightier things of life and faith and to put aside useless arguments and considerations that can only bring ruin.
