§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

II Timothy 4:8   Thought/Prayer:  Eagerly Look Forward.  Topics:  2 at end.

“And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.”  Scripture quotations are taken from the Holy Bible, New Living Translation, copyright ©1996, 2004, 2007 by Tyndale House Foundation. We often say that we look forward to something, such as a special day, activity, or such.  In this scripture we see that we believers look forward to the return of the Lord Jesus to rule the universe.  In fact, there is a prize for us who do this type of looking, even eagerly looking.  Praise Him for the prize!  And just what is this prize?  Something we do not deserve but will receive!  And we didn’t even need to pop balloons at a carnival for it!

No, this prize is a crown—the crown of righteousness.  Who, me?  Getting a crown?  And, righteousness?  Again, “Who, me”?  Yes, it is true.  We are promised the prize of a crown of righteousness.  And this can be believable when we see how this is obtained . . . as we say, no balloon-poppings.  We don’t need to do any physical action here.

This crown is gained via our faith.  And in essence, it is a certain application of the faith that works it; it is the One in Whom we place our faith.  The Lord Jesus Christ:  He is our righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6).  So, as we look forward, we see that in our future is this great reward from the Lord.  This will come when He is totally in control of all creation, and we know not when.

But in the meantime, we can look forward to receiving this wonderful reward.  We can eagerly look toward this prize as we go about our daily lives, walking with Him and carrying out His plans for us on Earth.  These plans may, as part of our lives in Him, include those who struggle with such great heavies as abortion, euthanasia, deletion of the unfit in society, and more.  We may serve them knowing that through our faith He can work in their lives also.  And the best part would be in bringing them to know the Lord in order that they can also look forward to all of the glorious things that await us.

Lord, we thank you that you have written for us exactly what we can expect, can eagerly expect.  We want to carry others forward with us, so help us know how to do that.  We place our lives on Earth with you and want to follow you as eagerly as we anticipate your future rewards.

Topics:  Pray to be able to serve others more and more and to encourage them to know the Lord and then to receive His rewards as they look forward to them along with us.
