§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Isaiah 59:15,16 (Pt.5) Tht/Pryr: God’s Own Arm. Topics:2 @ end.

“Yes, truth is lacking; and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Yahweh saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice.  He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his own arm brought salvation to him; and his righteousness, it upheld him.” WEB (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)

There is a sad aspect to this scripture.  In it, we see that God wonders that there is no one seeking Him for help, for wisdom, for a stance against the evil of the age.  So He Himself gives Himself permission to stand in where there are no prayers, no intercessors.  He allows Himself to use his own arm – the strongest arm ever – to stand up for His people.  He will never forsake (Heb. 13:5).  He will never allow total annihilation of His followers.  He goes against the forces against Him to protect and deliver us.

But even in our day, should we not feel grief-stricken should there be no one anywhere to seek out Him, His wisdom, His will for us, His special creation, made in His likeness?  We could say that God is forced to use His own strength when there is no one asking for it . . . but God does not ever need to be forced.  But He allowed Himself to do this because He needed to:  He needed to rely on Himself to be strong and to bring righteousness when there was none.  When our God sees a need, He cannot go against Himself; He fills it.

Of course, God’s righteousness is always enough for Him.  His own right-ness is enough not only for the universe, but for Himself.  Nothing can detract from Himself; so when He uses his own character aspects for Himself, no one can go against Him.  So, as this scriptures says,  “. . . his own arm brought salvation to him; and his righteousness, it upheld him.”  If we human being have to rely on ourselves to achieve something, it’s probably less than 50-50 that it will get done.  Not so with God.  He relied on Himself, his uncreated always-eternal Self, to help Himself.  Just to think of it brings to mind such great power that we cannot really think upon it with understanding:  just awe.

Lord, thank you for revealing just a bit more about Yourself in this scripture.  We thank you that when mankind lets you down and will not even ask for help, that You are strong enough and righteous enough to take care of everything Yourself.  You maintain Yourself, and that means that we can always, eternally, rely on You.  Help us to pass this on to those who cannot help themselves in LIFE crises.  You can.  You will.

Topics:  Pray for the ability to pass on to others the incredible power of our God, even to maintaining Himself.  People in LIFE struggles need to know this!
