Isaiah 4:2 (Pt. 2) - Fruit in Many Capacities
Thought/Prayer: Topics: 2 at end.
“In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.†KJV http://www.bible.com/ (Read this scripture and more at http://prayerpivot.com)
God mentions fruit, in His Word, in many capacities. As in this scripture, there is the “fruit of the earth,†the bounty produced from the land. There is the fruit of the Spirit –“ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, fidelity, meekness, self-control: against such things there is no law.†(Galatians 5:22,23 DARBY)
But perhaps the greatest fruit is the fruit of the womb. When Mary the Lord’s mother went to visit her cousin Elizabeth, Elizabeth “. . . spake out with a loud voice, and said, ‘Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.’†(Luke 1:42) KJV. Of course, Jesus was the greatest Fruit of the Womb of all time and eternity.
The fruit of the womb in our nation and world-around has been under threat on an ongoing basis. Whether using abortion for birth control or just to get rid of a “terrible problem,†it is the womb that undergoes violence and destruction. But if Christians apply the fruit of the Spirit and are faithful in such attributes as kindness, goodness, or love, attitudes and situations change, and the womb is spared. And God promises to bless the fruit of the earth if we are faithful in following Him. Lord, today give us wisdom on how to save the fruit of the womb, little babies.
