Isaiah 44:23, 24 (Pt. 3) Thought/Prayer: Every Tree in the Forest. Topics: 2 at end.
“Sing, O you heavens; for the LORD has done it: shout, you lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, you mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD has redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
Thus said the LORD, your redeemer, and he that formed you from the womb, I am the LORD that makes all things; that stretches forth the heavens alone; that spreads abroad the earth by myself; . . .” (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)
Isaiah 55:12 “For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” AKJV
God has planned for nature, (what we sometimes call mother nature) – that is, the natural world – to praise Him. It is clear in the book of Romans that He reveals Himself through the natural world. “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known of God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them. For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse” (Romans 2:18-20, WEB).
It is easy for the natural world to praise Him just by its existence, as we see in Romans 1. And isn’t it joyous that He even portrays the natural world as actually praising Him with human characteristics – singing, clapping, and just plain ol’ praising. Psalm 148 is just chock full of the natural world in praises: stars, sea creatures, flying birds, waters, lightning and hail . . . and more – all praising Him by dint of their own existence.
In these Isaiah passages, He has each and every tree in the forest and in the fields getting into praising. He makes certain with the trees: The forest - every tree therein; the fields – all the trees. He enjoys each and every one.
God, we cannot praise You enough as your human creations. Your world of nature shows Your handiwork; so do we. And let us be portrayals of your praise just as a beautiful yellow rose or a thunder cloud. May others see You in us.
