§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Isaiah 54:13   Thought/Prayer:  Peace and God’s Teaching.  Topics:  2 at end.

And all your children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of your children.”  (AKJV)  (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

In Isaiah 54, the prophet Isaiah is prophesying about the future of the nation of Israel, and this verse is a part of it.  Isaiah tells Israel that God is going to restore their nation and that things are going to get so much better under God’s direction.  There are these words (AKJV): “O you afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay your stones with fair colors, and lay your foundations with sapphires.
And I will make your windows of agates, and your gates of carbuncles, and all your borders of pleasant stones.
And all your children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of your children.”

Perhaps all parents would love to claim this scripture even today.  All parents would want their children to have great peace in this world.  And for those who believe, what could be better than that our children are taught by the Lord?  These promises from God come right after He has depicted a beautiful rebuilding of Jerusalem (Zion).  Both the city and the promises of God are beautiful.

We know that children in our world often do not live in peace.  Even families that believe in God may have trials that are unsettling and definitely not peaceful.  This promise of God to Jerusalem and to its children gives hope, however.  Some day there will be peace all over this earth and things will be made beautiful.  Right now we must pray for children to find peace in their lives, the peace coming from the knowledge that God loves them . . . Jesus loves them.

And they “shall be taught of the LORD . . . .”  These words could very well be very encouraging to mothers carrying an unplanned offspring and who do not know how to manage this new child’s upbringing, including teaching.  When explained to such a mother by a counselor at a pregnancy clinic, hope may spring up in the heart of the mother . . . hope of God’s teaching in the life of a child, teaching that can come through parents’ input into a child’s rearing.

Lord, we want You to teach kids.  You can do this when parents are allowing You into their lives and into the lives of children.  Then You can have your effect on the growing-up of a child:  You will teach them at the parents’ encouragement.

Topics:  Pray for parents to understand how to bring God’s peace into their families and into the hearts of the children.
