§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Isaiah 58:10 (Pt. 2)  Thought/Prayer:  Feeling Afflicted.  Topics:  2 at end.

“When thou shalt pour out thy soul to the hungry, and shalt satisfy the afflicted soul then shall thy light rise up in darkness, and thy darkness shall be as the noonday.”  DRB   (Read these scriptures and more at

How do we satisfy an afflicted soul?  It seems a huge task, a big order.  How can anyone who is afflicted, be satisfied?  Is it only in the absence of affliction that we can be satisfied with ourselves, with our lives?  We might think so.  And yet, there are so many testimonies of endurance and victory through affliction – we know that there is something to a satisfaction-though-afflicted, or satisfaction through affliction.

When families know there is a baby on the way, an unplanned one, it may seem that affliction sits on the crib rail.  It’s just waiting there for us to embrace and to live out in life.  There seems to be no way to feel less than under affliction about this.  This is something very hard. It is something of very great and unfair challenge.  This baby just is too much extra for our lives.

Only the Lord can truly satisfy someone who is afflicted.  It is our part to ask for His mercy to be made apparent, for His will to be made known.  His will is for LIFE.  We must pray for it.  And we must offer compassionate attitudes toward those who feel afflicted by such a huge life-changing event as this baby.  Compassion and prayer.

Topics:  Pray for compassionate attitudes toward those feeling afflicted by an unexpected baby or by the demanding care of an elderly person.
