§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Isaiah 58:10 (Pt. 4)  Thought/Prayer:  Hungry Souls.  Topics:  2 at end.

“When thou shalt pour out thy soul to the hungry, and shalt satisfy the afflicted soul then shall thy light rise up in darkness, and thy darkness shall be as the noonday.”  DRB   (Read these scriptures and more at http://prayerpivot.com.)

What is the reason for the unusual ten words at the first of this scripture, do you think?  We have the hungry mentioned, and it’s all about pouring out our soul to someone who is hungry.  Why soul?  The hungry must surely need good old food.  But we are going to give them the outpouring of our souls?  If I’ve been lost at sea for two weeks with nothing but stale crackers to eat, someone is going to feed me from their soul?

Of course not.  The first requirement for me is to offer me some simple food.  Real food.

But we also know that this speaks of a different type of food:  spiritual.  Jeremiah 15:16, speaking of the Lord:  “Your words were found, and I did eat them; and your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by your name, O LORD God of hosts”  (AKJV).

Even God’s words are spiritual sustenance.  When we pour out our souls to those spiritually hungry, we are feeding them from God’s pantry of goodness.  Yes, we give the physically hungry something good to eat.  We give the spiritually hungry something good to eat.

Lord, families going through devastating times such as being informed that their in utero baby has a serious anomaly, need to be fed with the strength of Your word and with the caring outpouring from the soul of someone who follows You.  Help us to do this, prayerfully and care-fully.

Topics:  Pray for God’s wisdom to be apparent as we pour out our souls to those hungry for spiritual food.
