§ What is Pro-Life Unity?

To achieve Pro-Life Unity we will establish standards that we all agree upon, and efforts that we all regularly participate in. By working together we can challenge the culture of death and the apathy which is pervasive in our society.

Isaiah 61:3 - Beauty for Ashes.

Thought/Prayer:  Topics:  2 at end.

“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.”

Ashes may refer to ruins.  Ash is what is left after something has been burned.  In ashes, there is no resemblance to the object that was burned.

In the struggle to make human LIFE a top priority in our world, we may get to thinking that our efforts have all turned to ruins in ash, that there is nothing resembling life in any direction we look.  And then there are the ashes of the preborn that float from crematoriums at abortion clinics.  A young boy at an abortion clinic once told me that he had some ash on his arm from such a place.

Where is the beauty?

God does not make promises he cannot keep.  He tells us he will give us beauty for ashes, and we must believe.

We may not be in Israel, but we mourn just as the Israelites did over many losses.  Later on in this Psalm, we are told that Lord GOD will cause “righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations” (Isaiah 61:11).  This is what we must press to our hearts.  We must pray and claim this promise.  Part of the beauty may come through those who serve God, to turn a culture of death to LIFE.  But let’s claim ever more beauty as seen in the faces and smile of the babies who are allowed to live, beyond ashes, to beauty.

Topics:  Pray for all prayer warriors for LIFE.
Pray for life-ministry leaders at the national or state level, that they will find time to pray and come close to the throne of God, so as to receive blessing and to receive help in time of need” (Heb. 4:16).
